Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo fans........I have something I'd like to say to you about the Wii U

There are few things as ridiculous as blaming customers for the fate of products. That is obviously impossible.

Just as easily you can blame all that didnt buy the product for its failure. Say the Dreamcast for example.

At the end of the day, only the manufacturers can directly influence the fate of their product on how they design, market, produce and communicate its value.

You, sorry to say, are only looking for a fight. Even on the points you raise, i doubt they would have made a difference just like they didnt for the Dreamcast.

Holy flurking shnidt! Those are some bold, boisterous, and very wrong predictions.

Yep.

Now you can see why I blame Nintendo fans....even if it's just a little bit.

Some are even starting to repeat the same pattern of history.

lol, Nintendo makes their hardware decisions based on their own R&D whims, not even their fans have any sway over that. Nintendo does what Nintendo wants.

I'd agree with you if it wasn't for this:

Also,

Dreamcast was actually a good system.  It failed for a whole host of other reasons that the Wii U failed.  It also failed before Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc.   Not an Apples to Apples, I'm afraid.

Some of your insinuations are Pachter level.

Some?

Which ones?

So you're saying it's my fault that I didn't change their hardware design and teach them how to HD, despite clearly having no say on any of that?

I dont get this thread

Look, Nintendo is a company. I am a consumer that enjoys their products. I am not an investor and I am not their friend, as such I hold absolutely no responsebility over their actions.

Yes, I can't boycott, bitch and whine if something is seriously wrong with their product, like, say, it's overtly spying on me and needs to be always online. That's outrageous and if microsoft hadn't changed it, the consequence would have been that I would not have bought their product (I didn't anyways, but that's another story). I'm not obligated to one company or another in any case. It's not my job to make sure they run their business right.

(And I write this, being one of the people who genuinely likes the WiiU and thinks it's a great system, so I have no reason to bitch and moan in the first place. It just happens to be a commercial failure. That doesn't take away from my enjoyment of it though.)

Like others have mentioned actions speak louder than words and I think Nintendo got the message that the WiiU largely failed to incite consumer interest.

On a side note, the notion that Nintendo would have listened to Shokio or any other Youtuber for that matter is pretty rediculous anyways.
Aside from that, you might have hated the WiiU from early on and might even be able to find a couple of articles from the time critical of it, but the overwhelming majority did genuinely look forward to the system and was excited for it at time, so there was no 'lying' going on.

I think this is the problem though, I get the feeling that the OP feels that Nintendo gamers should have boycotted all Nintendo products and software to prove a point to them. As if they haven't put out great games or anything this generation. Zelda U will probably be one of the best games coming next year, should we not buy the game because the WiiU isn't the system that we were hoping for... Once again I really don't understand this all or nothing attitude when it comes to Nintendo. It's either they make casual games or they go 3rd party as if there's no middle ground at all for them to market to.

Hi

I´ve read this kind of post every time since the wiiU was launched. I mean: nintendoooooomed. I know, it´s funny, but i´m boring about this. I´ve been linstening the same words every time Nintendo makes one movement.

ds: two screens vs psp power. Nintendo is doomed.

3ds:who want to see games like that. Ps vita is a big monster. Nintendo is doooomed.
