PS2 and Xbox 360 were also dead. Yet they got very good support at the end of their lifetime. Lots of third party games and exclusives. Thing is longevity is important. Nintendo dont do much longevity when it comes to home consoles.

Your talking about two of the most successful consoles of their generation. Especially the PS2, at the end of their lifetime their install base were massives. PS2 is the best selling consoles of all time.

WiiU is at the end of the lifecycle and only has 14 million sold... most of these system are simply collecting dust.

Last time I CHECKED Wii was the most successful console of its generation. NOT XBOX 360. Where was Wii support at the end of its lifecycle?

Check again..... look at software sold. Wii sold to everyone including Grandpa and Grandma who only ever playing Wii Sports. Wii was a massive success for Nintendo and made them insane amount of money but most of this money on the casual market. The Wii alienated hardcore gamers and many longtime Nintendo fans have moved on to PS3 and Xbox 360 during that generation. Just look at what is happening now, the WiiU hardware is a joke and can barely surpass PS3/360 level of graphics.

1. You actually proved Wii was indeed for casuals.

2. Who stopped Nintendo to put powerful hardware in Wii U? Me?

3. The thing was about longevity. Wii didnt had it. Wii U also doesnt have it.

It represents the "Quality" of recent Wii U games. They are poorly made with low budget. Wii U games are scarce and whatever they are of very poor quality.

Tell that to Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, Yoshi´s Woolly World and XCX

How many new good games has made Sony this year though? Bloodborne and... Until dawn? oh and none of those are really sony games :/

Even in their lowest year they have delivered more than others. The real difference is third party support that can make that a console looks good even if its company does not make a single game for it, but that´s a problem that cannot be fixed already, not for this console at least.

True, but people forget about Sony's mistakes because, apparently, it's hip to hate Nintendo.

I haven't even seen a regular Sony game in years. Well, except a remaster of God of War III, and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, but the latter flopped. -_-

Splatoon aka Vocal Minorities GOTY (LOLZ) - Meta 81

Super Mario Maker aka Some random game / creation tool - Meta 88

Wooly world aka Little big planets "theme" rip off - Meta 78

I will reserve my comparison with Wii U's third year with PS4's third year. As for games, PS4 had probably more game games this year that Wii U got in its lifetime. Lol.

It should be common knowledge that Sony's first party generally takes two years to build itself up. Unlike Nintendo they are investing on huge undertakings and Nintendo is starting to increase the development schedule of their titles to catch up with demands of next gen. Infamous and Killzone already dropped, but Uncharted and other first party exclusives are on the way.

Little Big Planet, which people apparently stopped caring about.

Yes, the PS4 has had more games, but how many of those were first-party? And for that matter, how many of said first-party Sony games were even memorable?

The Last of Us? All flash with mostly cutscenes as opposed to actual gameplay.

Need I remind you of Knack?

Some days I just blow up.

Then Nintendo must be slowly trying to kill the Wii U and bring us something better. Can something so crazy work?!

Then Ninty better deliver with the NX and make Metroid Prime 4, Paper Mario 5, a new F-Zero, etc...
