Go Mario Maker.

Horrible sales week all around. Now we just need to know the true digital sales percentage of Halo.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

Halo 5 leading the charts!!!!!
Splatoon is still selling quite well after 5 months!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Goodness, Halo 5 sales are very similar to what was doing the rounds in the NPD thread. I wonder how that happened? Does that lend more or less credibility to the NDP insider dude who showed up on GAF?

If you see any obvious errors let me know on my wall or by quoting this post, thanks guys.

Note - Dance Cental is going to be removed, so no need to tell me about that one. Those are sales of digital download cards, for those wondering.

So why are you removing it? I would think we would like to have sales of these cards for digital only games included in the charts, only perhaps an * could be put along side games that are digital only and the number only pertains to sales of game specific download cards.

Also, will you be adjusting the NDC down a tad since NPD "insiders" are saying NDC (incl bundles) is <300K for Oct? So VGC is at least 13% over tracked compared to NPD.

Fair sales.

Spinoff rout is killing the Halo brand. There is not need for these fan fiction story lines. I enjoyed the campaign and story, but it NEEDS to be about Master Chief and ONLY Master Chief.

None of this subtitle crap either. Just make Halo 5, 7, 8 ever 2 years etc. Franchise restored.

I think it could work quite amazing if Buck replaced Locke though :). Also, Vale is one of the coolest Spartans ever.

Because although we could produce those numbers it's not something we've talked about pursuing yet. If we're going to do it then we need to apply to evenly to all games that are sold this way, not just one title.

But yes I had thought about adding a separate physical and digital estimate for each game. Two points though - 1) Not sure if we have enough data to do that reliably, and 2) Our game database is a mess and would need overhauling first.

I personally value NPD data (and indeed any sales tracker - the more data the better, and if we're open to using it - which I think we should be - then we can build a really comprehensive sales database) so once I have full adjustment powers reliable leaks will prompt adjustments if we're either a fair way out or it backs up a trend that I'd been seeing in the numbers but didn't have the confidence to risk going with at the time (cautious guy that I am by nature).

Uncharted I'm 95% sure we overtracked the first week but have been slightly undertracking every week since launch. The raw data for the bundle figures is really high. We'll probably adjust the first week down and subsequent weeks up. Haven't seen the data for the next US week yet but I expect it's gone up a lot.

Regarding Halo the initial estimate was slightly below 900. I expect the NPD leak is reliable. If you go back and look at our pre-order chart you'll notice that pre-orders remained flat and it ended up at 708k - a very low figure for mainline Halo but in-line with NPD and our final figure.

Interesting. Perhaps as an initial step into the digital reporting arena an occasional article could be written about what games VGC has been tracking digitally and where their sales are at. And what method of digital transactions are and aren't able to be tracked / estimated.

@OP UK chart is up now, perhaps that could be added to the OP.

Speaking of UK. PS4 is coming damned close to being the top selling 8th gen hardware INCLUDING handhelds. probably won't happen this year, but next yea for sure, and I wonder if it will happen before NX releases (assuming NX will be the 9th gen hardware for Nintendo that covers both handheld and home console spaces)

PS4 18,793 (+12%) 2,367,569
3DS 6,948 (-6%) 2,988,429

I wouldn't be surprised if Xb one eventually overtakes 3DS as well.

Disappointing halo sales by its standards.

WW this week will be good but I'm really looking forward to next week's chart. Bo3 on ps4 will be a monster.
