Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Metacritics unbelievable Bias against Nintendos Thirdparty exclsuives in recent days

Rodea the Sky Soldier, 48

Devil's Third, 44

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, 67

meanwhile Indie games get 90s regullary who look worse in every aspect of quality. Just proves it even more that Metacritic is not reliable when it comes at rating japanese games in general (Famitsu, 4gamer and other japanese reviewers not allowed) but its even worse for nintendo games not made by Nintendo it seems.

Tell me what you think? do you agree whith these scores? i feel there is something fishy

Personally, of those three games I only believe Fatal Frame was treated rather harshly. Devil's Third is a bit of a mess and Rodea is extremely unpolished (though I haven't played them so I can't say if they deserve those scores).

Devil's Third is horse shite crammed into a DVD case. I have no idea about Rodea.

And many people were actually hyped for the new Fatal Frame - so if anything, I would say these reviewers are truly disappointed with the game rather than following some Wii U-hating agenda.

There's nothing fishy to smell here, besides the smell emanating from the Devirl's Third case.

Calling Metacritic "biased" seems like a stretch given all it does is collate reviews from other sources. Surely if there is any bias (and having not played any of those games you mentioned, I can't comment), then it's from the actual reviewers themselves rather than Metacritic.

In my opinion, complaining about metacritic is useless. Metacritic is just essentially an average of review scores from multiple gaming sites. Calling it media bias is more accurate to your complaints. Metacritic is more like the messenger, don't shoot it.

Personally, I don't care about collective scores of reviews. I barely care for specific reviews. The last review score to hold my attention was probably for Splatoon from IGN and I trust that reviewer, but I digress.

Overall some have the reviews, not scores, give me the idea of what's a flaw and what's something personal with the reviewer. I won't buy Devil's Third, and at a certain point, I was hyped about it and more than willing to forgive its flaws because I the gameplay had a foundation with gameplay I wanted in games, as well as due to the painful dev cycle they went trhough. Micro-transactions stopped me cold. Any game with those is off my radar. I can't say anything about the other two, but I do intend to buy them both sometime next year Q1

I don't think so. Fatal Frame should be a bit higher but the other 2 look like bad games.

How is it bias when all Metacritic does is gathers all reviews and creates an average? Shit games are shit unfortunately.

I know the Wii U gets next to no 3rd party support but to call out a website that literally gathers data and creates an average "Biased" is hilarious at best

Keep fighting the good fight though bro

yeah its bias that made Devils Third score low. not that the game looks like shit. no, its bias.

Perhaps those scores are deserved

I can tell you that Devil's Third actually got better scores than it deserves. The game is broken in every possible aspect and no one should ever play it.

Didn't play the other games.
