LudicrousSpeed said: They are both amazing ass games that warrant playing. And you shouldn't play both at the same time. They're both open world and both have a lot of RPG elements, but that's kind of where the similarities end. Witcher is a more traditional RPG and has a deeper inventory system and magic elements. It also has better writing. You get a grand story with many elements and paths to take to get there. In Fallout it's more about exploring and surviving. I prefer Fallout's combat but Witcher's combat is also great. As others have said, I would buy Witcher 3 and spend 100+ hours on that, and then later pick up Fallout 4. |
I don't agree with you often, but the only thing I would change from this post is the part about combat. I've always been a sucker for third person action like in Witcher and Fable, so it takes the win easily in that category. Otherwise, pretty spot-on.
I have to reiterate that the writing in The Witcher 3 is outstanding. Even though you don't play as an avatar of you, the character of Geralt is really awesome to play as. Such a bad ass, and he's supported by equally fleshed out supporting characters each with their intricate back stories and whatnot. And seriously... Whoever modeled Yennifer's face deserves an endless amount of love for the rest of eternity. <3
Truly a stellar game.
