RIP Tomb Raider.

What a terrible situation for those developers. It's not a total flop, but I hope that paycheck was big SE.

If SE does the right thing with the PC and PS4 releases it can still sell good on those platforms. Launch it with all DLC, and if possible a PS4 bundle could sell very well. The PS4's installbase will be well over 40million by the time RotTR launches on PS4.

I agree that when ROTR does release on PS4 it needs to be with all the DLC and maybe cheaper as well. However, that won't change the fact that game will be a year old and there will be many other new games releasing during that period. Hell, it's possible that ROTR on PS4 might have to go up against Horizon: Zero. Dawn.

Horizon Zero Dawn won't be out next year, I can pretty much guarantee you that.

Yeah, I'm sure you can . . .

Not sure why people are saying that ROTTR sold terribly, it likely match or even surpassed Tomb Raider Definitive Edition lifetime sales already on the Xbox One. It also be noted that first week of Tomb Raiders first week on the 360 is at 104K but the 360 installment was at 8 million. So ROTTR actually sold well even with competition like Fallout 4 releasing on the same day. The holidays will also help sales of ROTTR.

@bolded: umm no. it was 104k in the UK first week for the 360. overall it was 180k~ for the reboot first week. compared to 50k~ for the sequel. massive drop.

the 360 version didnt sell 8 million. the reboot, on all 5 platforms (PS3, 360, XB1, PS4, PC) sold 8 million.

overall, coming off a game that sold 8 million world wide, and 180k first week in the UK. a 50k opening in pretty much a disappointment. people can blame the exclusivity, but the in the end, despite the circumstances, the end result is 50k, which simply isnt good for a franchise that sells as well as Tomb Raider.

Wait first it was 63k and now it's 50k?

In the OP it says less that <57k overall and with a 85/15 split in favor of XBO; the XBO SKU sold <50k.

Dude, this thread is about UK sales so it should be really obvious that I am talking about UK sales for Tomb Raiders 104K first week on the 360.

The 8 million is how much the 360 consoles were sold lifetime in the UK when Tomb Raider was released. The 360 sold 8,333,302 when TR was released.
