Forums - Politics Discussion - Rumor/Report: Russia gearing towards nuking ISIS

Here is the link to the full report with one paragraph pasted here:

http://rightwingnews.com/isisisil/putin-gets-brutal-revenge-that-obama-never-would-on-isis-for-downing-russian-jet/

"According to the latest claims, it seems that Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to enact quite the devastating revenge, and it’s been a long time coming. “Citing its right to protect its people and interests in Russia and abroad, Intelligence officials have anonymously reported that Russia is moving its tactical nuclear units closer to its international boundaries and its frontier with other hotspots within Russia, such as the northern Caucasus region,” Live Leak reports. Yes, you read that right – Putin wants to nuke ISIS."

Yeaaaaaaahhhh, nope. Not gonna happen. No way in hell. He might be trying to intimidate ISIS, but no way is he gonna launch any of those nukes.

EDIT: Dat source tho

Some how I don't believe that source.

Whoa, that escalated quickly!

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Well, the source is utter bullshit (and the entire website).

But yeah, Putin will do more now against the IS because he has two motivations: revenge for Flight 7K9268 and to help his friend Assad. Of course not with nukes.

Not really a good idea, if they did that chances are that every ISIS-cell in Europe and the US would retaliate,

If this is true, and I'm not saying it is nor am I saying I agree with their mentality (as a Christian I am against nukes), I would imagine Putin is looking at this like a numbers game. If he nukes the area and kills thousands/tens of thousands of them, then it is worth it to him I guess. Whatever is left would be scattered, small, and relatively leaderless, not to mention anyone who saw that explosion and lived to talk about it would be too scared to continue the Jihad, but then again Muslims that to these attacks don't seem to get scared away from things despite pain and death so who knows.

This whole situation is just terrible and sad and infuriating all at the same time.

Isis are far too spread out to just 'nuke' them.

It's cheaper and more effective to just use drones and pick out clusters of targets, with Iran and kurds pointing out where they are on the ground.

Never going to happen. Absolutely no developed nation wants to set a post-WW2 precedent for the aggressive use of nukes. Even ignoring that though, it would just make the situation worse. A lot of ISIS's propaganda revolves around painting the rest of the world as evil, and a nuke (and all the innocent deaths it would likely entail) would be a very effective way of convincing people in the region that they're right.

The article doesn't seem thrustworthy. That and the only big bombs Russia would dare to use are it's thermobaric bombs (which are frightening in an entirely different way)
