Got them on the phone, alive and well.

It's not even slowing down... Holy shit.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Thank god, they must be scared as hell.

Freedom of movement, open borders, hundreds of thousands of mostly genuine migrants from Syria... but you can't tell me there isn't a good number of terrorists hiding amongst them. That would be naive. We may need to get used to this being a regular thing. Hell, it already is a regular thing.

I don't really want to have this discussion in here Kowen if you don't mind.  What I know though it is way more easy for a terrorist to get here than a refugee even if we build walls close borders etc.

They are.
Actually, we're all terrified. In a few weeks we'll have the Christmas Markets pretty much everywhere in the East of the country, the biggest being in Strasbourg, where I live.

And every year there are serious alerts.

i don't even know what to say,. this is fucking terrible though.

French President François Hollande has just declared that all borders are now closed for an unknown period of time.

EDIT: and of course, state of emergency declared, soldiers are being deployed all over the city

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Hollande calls state of emergency over all France, closes borders.

Edit -

I dont really think this is the time or place to be talking about the refugee situation. Please leave that at the door, or for another thread.

One of the attackers at the Bataclan has explosives, according to a Liberation journalist quoting a police officer at the scene.

Meanwhile Julien Pierce, a Europe 1 journalist who was inside the Bataclan, has described what he saw:

"Several armed men came into the concert. Two or three men, not wearing masks, came in with what looked like Kalashnikovs and fired blindly on the crowd.

"It lasted between 10 and 15 minutes. It was extremely violent and there was panic. The attackers had enough time to reload at least three times. They were very young."

Stay strong and don't let these terrorists scare or affect you, your family, or your friends this holidays anymore than they should.
