Forums - Sales Discussion - NPD: Halo 5 Sold Less than 1M in October

and its legs have been cut off at the knee.... by CoD.

So when Halo 5 has 4+ million sold by the end of the year will it still be considered to have "terrible sales"?

A employee in Bestbuy wrote that after CoD, sales for Halo practically just stopped, and fell to nothing (from neogaf).

Basically it wont have as long legs as halo normally does, so Im pretty sure it wont hit 4m+ copies sold by end of year.

And battlefront,  and fallout and destiny.  And 343. There's a few factors at play here.

I'm sure the Chief is just chilling, it ain't a sprint its a marathon after all.

My question then would be how the hell was halos revenue so fucking high?
We know that number included hardware.... But how!?

Sell-in for software + hardware.

So then, the game was massively over shipped. Or as we know MS is fond of doing, the channels are stuffed

Ofcourse they are, expect them to be widely available for the next 8 months like the AC: Unity bundles.

Shooter congestion huh? T^T

Then again MS can bundle Halo 5 with a lot of holiday deals. That should help. :D

Bombed.... :S

For some reason.

Studio, people possibly holding off for November, and Microsoft had dual marketing rights with Fallout 4 which is also a huge franchise.  It very well could be painting a slightly skewed data point.  Something to think about anyway.

I don't get it, where exactly do we see that Halo 5 sold less than a million copies? I see some random posts that say that it's sad but I don't see any confirmation :P
If true, it's terrible, but not surprising: least scoring Halo main title, no split-screen, only competitive multiplayer except Warzone, microtransactions

Wow that sucks "if" true. Is this confirmed?

I was wrong. I thought Halo was going do 2M easy in the US and shift a lot of consoles. Looks like neither happened.
