I think it's obvious that they just included all HW that week, pretending it was all due to Halo 5, which is complete BS.  MS has really gotten shady with their numbers lately.

i just don't get how they could get to 400 million dollars in one week without the sales of halo 5 being at least in the 2.5 mill range worldwide. Because even if you add in all hardware for the week like you said its tops 250,000 consoles sold, which even if they were all sold at 500 dollars (highly unlikely) would get to 125 million. Controller sales I have no idea but I'd hazard a guess at no more than 200,000 is 12 million and then you have the microtransactions which i believe had a figure of $500,000.

Tell me if i left anything out or my deduction is wrong but thats a total of $138 million lets say so it leaves $262 million dollars. I'm not suggesting thats all sales of the game but it definitely adds up to the game selling more than 900,000 in its main territory.

Something tells me they took a turn into out and out deception. There's no way whatsoever you can fluff up 400 million worth of games and hardware for Halo 5 unless they included everything from the "More Personal Computing" division.

Well it did include things like the Halo Controller:

Interesting that one spawned NPD thread is blocked while the other isn't.

Exactly, unless MS flat out lied there is no way it made 400 mil for the week on halo related hardware and xbox sales.

And I know I included the controller sales into the guess work.

Yeah, but I meant possible explanations.  No way in hell digital sales of Halo accounted for that much.

Halo had been on store for digital pre-order  since June. Not an end answer but you can imagine the role of digital sales in this particular software.

Same as any big game. I think digital attach rate will be similar to Destiny, around 20% not including bundles. With digital and bundles we are looking at around 1.4M.

Time to dig out comments from the Order 1886 sales and flop discussions. That could be very interesting right now.

When people were saying that The Order was a flop, did they consider the digital sales??? It was availabe to preorder digitally months in advance. Just sayin'

It must be 1,2M with digital, its décent for a Xbox One game but very bad for a big Halo game, they should start thinking about creating new IP, people are losing interest in Halo( or love split screen on Halo ?), not just in Uk.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Now I am officially worried about Tomb Raider

oh Lord, saves us all

And now i doubt it will even reach 6M lft

Several, I don't know exactly. But Sony put games up on their store for preorder way in advance. For instance you can preorder Uncharted 4 right now and that been available to preorder on the store for a few months already.
