Hmm, if it's true, it seems very late, but I would check it out. I always felt MC on the Wii U could be the best console version.

Personal opinion here but that'd be Minecraft Vita.

Silly Tachi, handhelds aren't consoles

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Vita version. I don't know much about it though. My biggest gripe with the console version is that you can't manually craft items using the crafting grid. If the Vita version has that one too, I would strongly consider picking that one too.

I just pick it because nothing kills time on a long flight quite like building a fort

Well, you got me there. That does sound pretty fun, haha.

Also, cool custom banner x )

Too late. Already got an X1 and downloaded it there.

Better late than never I guess.

Waaaay too much missed opportunity with MC on Wii U. Could have been the definitive edition (I hate that word...).

Probably because Minecraft was multiplatform long before MS got their hands on it, and it's a juggernaut of an IP because of it. Halo is a huge system seller for them and the defining face of Xbox, so putting it on Wii U or any other platform (aside from maybe PC) would be not only shooting themselves in the foot, but also helping their competitiors.

In short: no one is going to buy a Wii U over an XBO because of Minecraft, because the game would be on both platforms. So they might as well rake in the cash.

I guess I kinda see your point. But it just defies the exclusivity logic that is norm.

I could honestly see amiibo functionality with amiibo's being character skins. But either way, I most likely won't be getting this game as I already own it on PC, PS3, and PS4.

Imagine how many copies could Minecraft sell. amiibo Creeper, amiibo Pig, amiibo Enderman, amiibo Zombie... They could be the biggest lineup of amiibo after the Smash one. And both Microsoft and Nintendo would bathe in gold.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

reaaaaalllllllyyyy late.

Minecraft was the no-brainer game that could have been a huge system seller for the wii u early on. It would have highlighted the gamepad perfectly (while also being family friendly), but instead we had to wait 3 years in for Mario Maker to do that.

Better later than never, but soo much potential was lost

I don't know if delaying the release of Minecraft on the WiiU is because Microsoft didn't want a Nintendo system with Minecraft to steal the kids demographic, or because they thought it wouldn't sell well enough. Since when is the Tantalus port under developement?

Isn't it too late? Should wait and release on the NX launch...

The problem is that you and many other people, are overly-sure that NX will be released in the year of its disclosure,2016... Maintain some reservation towards that.

You never know...

Oh, I'm not sure about it. With Nintendo you never know, but I still believe the system has a good chance of releasing next year.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I'm talking about having had Minecraft as a launch title, way before Microsoft bought it.

This is one of the biggest goofs that I have seen Nintendo do. Back near the early wii u days, the creator laughed about putting Minecraft on the wii u and Mojang revealed that they had no plans (not that it was delayed). This is something that Nintendo should have been on top of. They really should have made a push for this game, even if it meant spending a lot of cash
