This NPD was all kinds of bad signs
Last year 400 PS4 with no notable release (US ignored Driveclub) sold as much as 350 x1 with Halo 5 and more than 350 ps4 with NDC.
Overall HW numbers are lower than they should be when the two main systems are 50 dollars cheaper than they were 1 year before and also had a better SW schedule for the month.
All games/IPs seemingly in decline.
If November doesn't bounce back with some smashing numbers, I can see the proponents of the "front loaded theory" slowly gaining ground... I know it looks good for the PS4 with the new bundle pre orders but we still gotta see the receipts.

Yeah I am. You bring up social media stats in threads whether it's US only or not. I can't try and connect it to the PS4 being pre-ordered for November instead of bought in October?

Wow, really bad numbers for the beginning of the holiday season. But then again, this entire holiday season seems very empty to me. There are a few high profile games, but it just seems to me that previous years were more packed with must have titles.
Hopefully Fallout, CoD and Star Wars can do their magic, at least with Black Friday all companies can put in a "huge % increase" in their next NPD.

Kudos to VGC, they hit XOne numbers almost spot-on, good tracking. My guess is that PS4 numbers got missed because they expected a price cut to give them a small boost, and instead it dropped almost 10% from last year. Tough to estimate that.
I wonder why Nintendo didn't put out any statements, they are usually very fair and give us a lot of numbers. Could it be that they succumbed to this overall slowdown as well?

It's simple. US is the majority of Halo's market. If Halo failed on social media (notice I didn't say the Xbox One fizzled) then it's obvious that Halo would fizzle in the US as that's what would generate the majority of the interest on social media for the title. 

I am suprised you couldn't figure that out. You obviously are going off the deep end in this thread, so this will be my last response to you in this thread.

Wow...just wow. That actually explains why Halo (software) failed as well.  None of the boosts shown a strong Halo relationship. Deriving data isn't hard jlmurph2. You are on the deep end.

Seems pretty split. Allot of peoples prediction was around 20 k difference interestingly enough. Allot of them predicted 100k  or more over the numbers we got. Feels bad man. I only looked thru the last 3 pages though.lol
