Forums - Movies & TV - Ridley Scott Says Prometheus Sequels Will Reveal Who Created Aliens

So they are a bio-weapon developed by "civilised" species. Seems like a complete failure given they seem to be impossible to control. Though perhaps the species that developed them have a mind control device that lets them direct the aliens and stops them from just running amok.

Alternatively they are a genocide tool, just drop the pods onto a planet who's people you don't like and the aliens will wipe them out. If you have an alien-specific virus that will kill all the aliens then you can kill them off once the planet has been cleared of unwanted inhabitants and then you can move in and take over.

I read some of the spinoff novels back in the day, and some ideas, like hive controll did arise in them. That would be the most logical thing to do. Or maybe it could be a simple pest-repellent bioweapon that degenerated and thus the bigger version was born. Never the less I am all ears. I love the ALien franchise, and the first movie is one of my all-time favorites. Hell I even like Prometheus, even tough most people seem to hate it.

I thought Prometheus have a pretty clear answer as to what "invention" ultimately gave birth to the Xenomorph.

Alien is brilliant, Aliens equally so. I even enjoyed 3, Resurrection and Prometheus. Didn't know there is going to be a sequel to Prometheus, will gladly await it's coming!

I liked Prometheus, it was a very worthy entry into the Alien-verse.

Promethus did not give an answer as to what bio-engineering originally started the chain of events leading to the appearance of the xenomorph. Promethus kind of kicks us of part way through with that sludgeworm that looked like a giant schlong. But where did the sludge worm come from?

Exactly. We have no idea And thats is what I like about the whole franchise. There are still so many questions left with so many potentially awesome directions to go

And that is why I hope that the new trilogy will actually be finished. It would be one sad thing if Scott dies before that or he will simply wont receive financing for it :-?
