Just need to leave that here while I go read the article!

This is set up so operfectly by the previous PS4 Fallout 4 thread on Gaf. The DF thread is going to be more interesting than the game.

Those Jerks to zero fps are really out of place in any game, I was thinking watching the video that it looked as tho the system was trying to do some background updates, but ofc DF said they done the same tests multiple times using different X1 consoles, would definitely pull you out of the immersion when those pop up.

Frame rate outside of the shuddering to a halt seems really good tho on both systems running at 1080p the only thing which would really sway me is like at 1:40 when coming down the street, watch how and when the ps4/X1 pops in the detail on the building at the end of the street, there is a good 3 seconds in the difference of when they appear and not just that but the ps4 method of blending them in is far less distracting than the Unreal engine popin look on the X1 version.

Damn that screen-freezing on X1 is going to be annoying if it happens constantly. I'll find out tomorrow. Other than that, both consoles seem to be having fps-issues but nothing that would bother me. Anyway, we'll be playing new Fallout soon, can't get any better than this :)

edit. oh just noticed it's 1080p for both. I wish they'd just make X1 version 900p if that would quarantee a solid framerate. Well, I hope they can fix that issue with a patch.

I guess we'll have to start using a different unit with Bethesda games from now on, seconds per frame (SPF).

While PC runs the game at 60 frames. These machines got old very quickly, we still get games render under 30 frames isn't what I call next gen experience.

It seems a little unfair to blame the consoles themselves for these issues when there are several titles on both systems that look and perform much better. This is an optimization issue, not strictly a hardware one.

OT: So better on the PS4, but overall not amazing on either. It doesn't look as bad as some were trying to argue a couple of weeks ago (it's a pretty obvious upgrade over the last installment), but it's hard not to be a little disappointed. Not wanting to push the technical envelope is fine, but you should at least be hitting your performance target if you opt to go down that direction.

My biggest gripe is the fact Fallout 4 runs better on a budget PC. Optimising is very important and all companies should be doing that all the time, and if all companies do that we would barely tell the differences between the PS4 and XB1. However that doesnt change the fact that a budget PC runs FO4 better then the PS4/XB1 when i remember them saying these consoles were considered super computers in Japan.

And many articles claiming this below

Just to add the XB1 handles the effects better like Fire, Smoke and Blood the PS4 drops in frames, claimed by DF @4:00. How come you didnt mention this in your thread?

Yeah these consoles cant handle last gen looking graphics @30fps? Look at dragon age, bloodborne, witcher 3 or mgs5 all of these games have better graphics, are open world and perform better than fallout 4.

Bethesda is just a horrible devoloper when it comes to consoles, just like rocksteady studio is for PC. To be honest they are a horrible devoloper in general when it comes to graphics or do they look a lot better on PC?

Well I'm glad it's at least running smooth on PC at 60(if it was 30 or less I'd probably grab the pitchfork), now all I have to do is sit back and wait for the inevitable patches while I play Legacy of the Void for the next two months.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

so what i got out of this is bethesda released another game.

..seriously,. how is anyone surprised by this.

I'm assuming the PS4 version is the same texture wise because it's off screen on the PS4 version but this is not a next gen game. This is NOT a glitched texture. It's fully loaded:

The PS5 Exists.
