SEGA, Bandai Namco, Square Enix? and many other Japanese companies make anime games but tbh, most of them are just mediocre, mainly becuz it's very hard to make a game out of it.

But with Sony, i believe things would be different. Their Japanese developers, SCE Japan Studios is the one dat made/make Shadow of Colossus, ICO, Gravity Daze 1 & 2, The Last Guardian, Knack, puppeteer, etc and etc. They're also the studios dat co-produce with FromSoftware for the original Soul game, Demon's Soul and Bloodborne.

Not to mention of western developers like Media Molecule (LilBigPlanet, Tereaway, DREAM), Sucker Punch (Sly Cooper) and Naughty Dogs (Jak & Daxter) dat have experience with animated games.

Yes, at the very least they should make another bleach heat the soul game preferably for PS4.

Most games are mediocre mo matter what genre or style.

I'd like a spiritual successor to Arc the Lad. They should keep the old artstyle, or hire competent people capable of modernizing it like Kozue Amano and Junichi Sato. Heck, even Atlus is having serious trouble trying to compete with anime in mainline SMTs, there's no way Sony studios are capable of pulling it off without making it fanserviceable like Senran Kagura or with Etrian Odyssey levels of anime fantasy.

PlayStation don't need anime games because Bandai Namco and Koei Tecmo are making anime games for almost every popular anime.
It may be a good idea to get some PS4 exclusive anime franchises to get the attention of the anime fans and to show them what a high quality game looks like.

Um, sure, why not? I like anime games, but not too much ecchi, like Gal Gun or that one PS3 game with the pink haired girl and blonde girl who are the same person... : X

SCE Japan Studios is the definition of mediocre. Just look at the games they've made from 2010 till now.
