Made by the people who made Magicka. Sony probably really liked the idea of the series and wanted the IP and to fund it. But the guys who made Magicka probably wanted them to port it in the contract so they made the 1st one timed exclusive. That leaves the other ones for PS only since Sony owns the IP. That's what it looks like to me.

Regardless - the IP is owned by Sony , not the magicka team - think of it as a somewhat similar treatment as nintendo giving its first party IPs to third parties to make games but on a much smaller scale.

First we got Halo and now we got a Sony IP! Cant wait for a port of New Super Mario Bros Mobile to come out on Steam now.

I don't how it's like that at all. This is actually worse because it's like all the other 3rd party indie exclusives that were timed on PS. Velocity ultra and Guacamelee were all timed exclusives and funded by Sony before they went to other platforms but Sony didn't own the ips. They really liked the idea behind helldivers so they got the IP but the devs wanted them to port it to PC so they didn't have to find someone else to do it like for Velocity and Guacamelee and that was probably a condition in the contract. PC and Xbox lose any hope of sequels coming out to their platforms because Sony owns the IP now. Smart move by Sony to get a very unique new IP like that.

Also how is an Indie game made by a third party anything like Halo? And when did Halo get confirmed for PC or are you talking about Halo 2?

PlayStation have to very, very careful. Some gamers will stop buying Playstations if they think they can get the games on PC.
You may think "It's only Helldivers", but people are constantly asking for the small and brilliant Sony owned games.
I constantly I the same question from games on twitter and elsewhere "is Journey coming to PC", "is Rime coming to PC", "is Until Dawn coming to PC", "is [insert random PS exclusive] coming to PC" the answer is generally NO and that no will will push PC games towards the PS4 if they hear it enough times.
First Party games on other platforms could confuse gamers, even if it's only one of ten.

I'm sure if we all hear no enough times we'll automatically convert to PS4, I'm cock sure of that.

Exceot it's been tow years now and I'm still not interested, I'm only interested what comes to my domain, I don't move for another's.

Also I'd rather PS now stay away from PC, I don't want some corp trying to think it can own an open market.

It's nice to see devs seeing that money can be made on PC though, there is wlaywas monet to be made there reglardless.

I'd like to mention as well that buying IP's from devs is probably the scummiest thing to do since it locks other plats and crowd from being able to enjoy the game.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

kinda unusual.

Reminds me of a few Blue Dragon games that are NDS exclusives even though the IP is owned by Microsoft.

Oh right I forgot they made that crappy topdown Halo spinoff.

1. Not everyone thinks like that and some definitely will because they are more open minded and or have the extra income.

2. What does this even mean? Why would Sony think that, they don't even want to be in the market. Leave it to Valve and everyone else to think they own the market. They sold off their 1 branch who only did that with Sony online entertainment who they were with for a long time.

3. This isn't the scummiest thing to do by far since it's business. They didn't have to sell their IP and could have just refused and found someone else to fund and port it to PC. The more IPS a game company has the more worth and potential they have. You wouldn't call someone scummy for buying out a building for their business just because someone else wanted to use the building too. That's how life works.

Let us not exaggerate this news, the moment one of sonys first party studios releases a game on pc or The Last Guardian gets a pc port then we can worry a bit^^

This is actually a greater worry if Sony is going to start buying the IPS from indie studios now too.

Thank god Team Ico isn't a indie studio so nothing to worry about.

1. You're acting as if it;s a definite outcome, like they are going to convert all PC gamers or make far more than MS despite the fact Sony has actually cut ties with the majority of PC gaming while MS is only just now getting back with what they abandoned for a number of years, they have a better shot than Sony will with a streaming service, that and you'll own your games and have proper BC options than a streaming service and well the other clients are better than Sony in general.

2. I don't want a streaming corp service on a platform that's designed to be open and not confined to a streaming service that stems from a console creator.
3.It actually is, by snatching up an IP that was owned by the devs prior you intervene and deny fans of the IP on other platforms or future ones in general and limit the scope of the game to just one platform and one audience than multiple. I don't care about the "it's business", there is more logical business decisions than simply moneyhatting IP's (you know something this gen and last that MS got rap for but apparently it's totes cool for Sony to do it, it's bad either way).

I never even mentioned anything about PSNOW, I care very little for it or what happens to it so 60% of what you said has no meaning to me. Sony doesn't even seem to want to put PSNOW there. They will probably kill it off like PlayStation Home.

As for the last part I just don't see it that way. The devs didn't have to sell off the IP, they decided to of their own free will. This isn't anything new since Sony has been trying to get any IP they like since the PS1 days. Which is a better deal because now a major publisher owns it and can make an even better and bigger game next time even if it's on 1 platform. It gets at least made instead of an indie studio having to find another way for it to be funded. Only real reason to be mad at it is if you don't own the platform which isn't their fault.
