Guys, this movie had a $100M budget. Not super high by today's standards, but no, it was not made on the cheap

Calling it now. There will be a Doom-style scene where someone's issuing orders and the camera goes up into a bird's eye view and we can see the different troops responding and moving around like it's an RTS, and it will be really stupid.

As for the trailer though, yeah, a lot of that CG looks pretty cheap. The green screen guy jumping off the cliff to land on the flying thing was terrible. Probably just not a very big budget.

Ha, no, this is Blizzard.  They do it right or they don't do it at all.  Money is no object.  That's why this has been in the works for 10 years.

Video not showing up. Will look it up elsewhere.

Link is in the OP now.

I mean it looks good but I was expecting more. More like Lord of the Rings and less like Narnia.

okay then it looks bad on purpose. Doesn't make it any better.

If you want Game of Thrones then stick to Game of Thrones.  Warcraft is stylized and is supposed to invoke high fantasy rather than realistic fantasy.  It wouldn't be Warcraft otherwise.  It's like picking up Ratchet & Clank and saying it's bad because the characters don't look real.  That doesn't make much sense to me.

If you're saying that you'd only like it if it were realistic, that's fine, but all it means is that it's not for you, not that it's bad.

On topic, I'm looking foward to this, though I'm not sure how much deep this film is supposed to go into the story.  I want the Scourge!

I think you misunderstood what I meant. I love fantasy settings, where you can tell that there's no place like that on earth (and thus not real). What I meant is that the trailer is so full of obvious CGI that it destroys that feeling.
Now about the humans; the armors look too shiny and in some of the shots there is so much post-processing that I feel like watching Beowulf.

That's a full $30 million less than Ant-man.  For a cgi spectacle film $100 million is nothing Spectre cost nearly $300 million and unless Daniel Craig took $150 million as his cut I have no idea where the money went with that film.

If this movie does well, will we get another RTS Warcraft game?

Then I have to assume they had limited time or a bad team of animators.  Either way, it doesn't look great.

Oh thanks!

Not sure how I feel about it. Has the foundation to be freagin epic, but nothing about the trailer wowed me.
