Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Elite Controller totally worth the $$

Picked up up my Elite Console tonight at the BO3 midnigh release. I AM IN LOVE.

All the interchangeable parts are magnitized. The controller feels AWESOME to hold and use. The joysticks feel nice and snappy. You can even switch the paddles around just about any way you want them in the back. I was surprised it even came with a pouch to hold the accesories, controller and a patterened fabric USB cable.

The app lets you adjust the sensativity of the joysticks and even tame down the vibration of the triggers (I love that, some of the games make the right trigger go a lil haywire). I was also able to choose the brightness of the Xbox button. Only con I would say for the app(depending on your preference) is the presets for games like Halo and Sunset Overdrive are permentent. However it lets you make as many as you want and name them whatever.

Oh and a con for the system is the 1TB hard drive only has a usuable ~720GB on it. Otherwise it does run and start faster that my day one did.

Edit: If people want me to I will take pics and post em

Also it is rummored the Elite contoller is usable on the PS4...don't have one to try it.

If I had the X1, I would get that controller. It looks awesome.

The console has a SSD right? What's the difference in loading times?

It is a Hybrid drive...it has SS and standard in one I think.

The add for it says 20% faster from sleep mode. Even the cold start is noticebly faster.  It does start quite a bit faster and even switching between menus on the old dashboard are faster. I can't wait to get my new dashboard back. It was already a lot faster on my old system.

I picked it up because I got an extra controller and a 59.99 game free with it(ended up getting BO3 since I already had everything else I wanted). With trade in credit I paid less than the Elite controller costs, IF you could find one, lol.

I got a hybrid it my PS4 I put in myself. I suppose a 1TB SSD would cost a bomb.

People buy keyboards, mice and fight sticks for a hell of a lot more than the price of an X1 Elite controller. So of course it will be worth it for alot of people.

I'll be getting it probably after Christmas and acting like it's really going to help me shitty aiming in Halo lol. Glad you like it because that shit looks fire. MS is hitting Home Runs this holiday

I'll probably get one when the price drops under 100€ because I'm still using a wired 360 pad from 2006 on PC.

They are indeed amazing. I preordered mine in June or July an picked it up last week. I was surprised how quickly I got used to the paddles playing Halo, and my son uses them as flappy paddle gear levers in FH2. Money well spent.

Isn't it better to have 2 2€ eneloops instead of a 20€ battery pack? Both have to be replaced after a few years and the official battery packs are oftenly hard to find after the console gets discontinued.
