Will a London NFL team ever be viable and sustainable.

Not a chance in hell 36 61.02%

It's possible 23 38.98%

Total:59

This should boost the sports popularity in the UK though. Look on the bright side

Only 16 games in NFL? Not including play-off games then I guess.

16 isn't much compared to other sports.

I think it is because the sport is so brutal that it requires  the uttermost recovery time. In the NFL you are aloud to tackle above the shoulders which seems crazy to me, So despite wearing protective gear the NFL is more still more dangerous than rugby because in rugby by law the neck and head are off limits.

In a way the pads in american football actually makes the sport that much more dangerous because psychologically it gives players a false sense of security.  Guys launch themselves full bore with no regard for their own or their opponent's safety all the time and the thing is, the other guy is often doing the exact same thing.

This should not be happening. It takes away a home team for one of the teams. It makes no sense. Let the NFL create a league in Europe if they like, but stop trying to outsource the talent of the NFL overseas in an obvious attempt at a cash grab. You're messing with the integrity of the game.

They should be pissed because they live in a country where there is only boring football instead of living anywhere else where they could watch actually exciting football.

I love the NFL and college football. However, the NFL games are become over-saturated by playing on Thurs, Sat (late in the season after college football regular season is over), Sunday, Sunday night, and Monday night. Probably 1 more game early Sunday morning (US times) in London probably not going to change that much.

Well the games are a hit over there, if only because people from across the continent show up as there's only a few games a year. I'm not sure what they're trying to do, though, as it would be far too difficult to actually put a team there for two primary reasons:

1. The travel time would be irritating.
2. The European team would not be able to compete for financial reasons, as players would lose far more to taxation/currency exchange etc than they would if they played only in the US (state taxes already make a difference). They'd have to pay the best players a lot more than other teams.

Maybe the NFL could allow them a larger cap, but it all seems rather unlikely... Maybe this is just an effort to sell merchandise and get Europeans to buy their sunday ticket package.

I could see the NFL creating a London exception since they're pushing so hard for it. The owners have no problems with bending the rules to get something done.

Nevermind. I read the schedules wrong. I'm sure thre's some benefit for the season holders missing that one game.

Remember NFL europe? Amsterdam Admirals, Berlin Thunder, Barcelona Dragons... No? It was horrible.. Except for the cheerleaders.. I dated one from the Admirals

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Id flip my shit if my team played in London rather than at home. But that wont happen anytime soon because they only send mediocre or worse over there and well... my team doesn't suck. My opinion, the only reason people go those games is because football isn't over there, its a novelty.
