Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How are you enjoying Halo 5?

Just curious from my Microfriends. I'm obviously a sony fanboy and currently I only own a Ps4. But I have been a LONG time Halo fanatic and I believe it is the best shooter franchise of all time. My favorite is Halo 3 followed closely by Reach; and then Halo 2.

How are you guys feeling about Halo 5? I'd love to play it but I can't just drop 300+ on a new console hah. To be honest from the videos/reivews I've seen it looks improved story/gameplay wise from Halo 4 ( I didn't like the Halo 4 campaign very much) but I haven't played it so that is a biased opinion. I'm not into too much Halo lore also so I probably would miss stuff that others wouldn't.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

I've just played the Multiplayer and 2 story missions. So far so good. There are things that need fixing in the multi and modes that need to be added that will make it much better than it currently is. There are no MCC issues which is a huge plus

Campaign is great. The story is really ramping up for me now. Playing more as Locke than chief... So far.

I would say the single player campaign is on the same level as Halo 2 (which is my least favorite in the series but still amazingly good) and the multi player is the best it's ever been. So it a fantastic package, also considering all the free dlc coming.

not much i did complete the game under 7h on hardness mode! game it a 6/10 and story it just meh...
micro-transaction .....no word for it only fool will paid for those IMO and sadly there many out there.

lucky me i was able to sell it right aways for same price i paid for... i might rebuy it went it be in liquidation bin soon enough at 15$

I should've added. The clambering(SP?) is a welcome addition. The no recharge till you stop sprinting is also nice. Breakout requires teamwork and i like that. The game looks good and the weapons sound so awesome. I'm liking the character models as well. I'm having fun with it so far. My favorite was H3 but i can't go back to no sprint.

My favorite storywise was 4. H1 was just recycled stages. H2 was a change but i liked that one but hated the multi. Cheaters were rampant. H3 story was good and the rank had ppl grinding for wins. Reach had a good story badly told imo but the ending was sad and memorable. ODST i think is underrated storywise.

Don't talk trash man, hardness mode is legit.

In all seriousness, I'm a couple missions in. First mission was really short, second mission was decent. The story has me a little worried, though. If the ending of mission 2 is really the entire motivation for Chief going awol...then...well...

Halo 4 was the highlight for me in terms of campaign missions, but the story was a bit shit. Story is still a bit shit in Halo 5. Missions are more like Reach.

MP is outstanding as always. Perhaps wait till BTB drops and the first wave of free DLC hits.

For the most part, the campaign is very fun to play but on it's own Halo 5's plot is weaker than Halo 4's.

The multiplayer is fantastic; I've had around 200 Arena matches and 10 Warzone matches (I like the competitive side of Halo more but Warzone is still great) and as of now I'd say it's the best of the series.
