Those first few sentences also really threw me for a while, lol.  So it's 50% more than AC and 50 more than MCC?  So basically AC and MCC sold the same?  Should've just said that :P

I think Halo 5's legs could be better than previous entries if the word of mouth is good. Consumers were probably hesitant because of the last entries.

Week ending 19 September was the last time it charted.

Legs are better in Germany, #22 last week and #1 in the eShop again.

Halo 5 flopped for a Halo game.

- Sold half most mainline Halos (including Halo 3 that had inferior userbase)
- Sold same than Destiny Xbone launch (a new IP in the lowest selling platform for gen 8)
- Sold a little more than Titanfall with way bigger userbase
- Sold less than HALO 3: ODST

There is nothing to MS commemorate about these sales.

BTW with UK number we can estimate Global numbers...

Less than 2 million sold is expected now (my personal estimate is ~1.6m)... a big drop from ~3 million the previous entries.

Was Halo 4 not day 1 digital too?

A lot of people play Halo for the campaign. And normal people as well as critics said the campaign / story was disappointing. People liked the co-op in Halo and it isn't there this time around. These factors are going to influence sales.

I still get the impression that digital sales will be less than 50% of physical for most of this generation. Perhaps when a 2TB sku comes on the market digital sales will start to dominate.

BTW the game cost ~£35. in UK... lower than most big game launch in UK.

Let's see but with Destiny, COD, Star Wars and Fallout almost out in the same time, it'd be really hard plus its marketshare is basically being depressed by the userbase growth compared to X360 and the shift to PS4 as well.

Going from 336,000 to 150k is not good, even if you account for digital sales, that's just low for a mainline Halo game. It's obvious the series is getting fatigued and I'm guessing the reviews didn't help either.
