Where is Zelda TPHD? Didn't pre-orders open already?

Well, it seems the XBO won October NPD. But does that prove Amazon's track record wrong? Not necessarily. Let's look at the final October rankings, not including preorders of November-release bundles and with the addition of rankings of preorders of bundles that went on sale in October:

PS4 NDC bundle: #19
XBO Halo 5 bundle: #25 (plus #24 in Sept.)
PS4 TLOUR: #49
PS4 Destiny TTK bundle: #59
XBO Gears bundle: #77

It appears that the Halo 5 bundle ranking #24 in September was, when added to the October tally, enough to drive the XBO to victory. And that's why Teeqoz and I decided that having the preorders from previous months of new bundles added to the OP was important information.

I'm pretty sure some people will still avoid looking into that fact and proclaim the Amazon ranking as the next Vgchartz lol

Yeah, in the spirit of an Amazon prediction, I'd have to say it was wrong, but the post discussions will obviously reveal that the PS4 actually sold more in October than the XB1, unless people want to believe that two months of preorders only amounted to 30k. I would suggest that Microsoft's approach to selling last year has actually hurt the industry this year and clearly people are waiting for those ridiculous deals again. Thank God Sony dropped the price of the PS4 when they did because it would have so much worse if they hadn't.

What do you mean by that?  Do things change further after NPD?  I'd always thought it was the end all when it came to US sales?

I'm talking to the people who actually partook in the day to day discussion here. We have been saying for a long time now it's the preorders that could decide the outcome and clearly it has. It's obvous that the PS4 sold more in October itself but the XB1 preorders put it ahead. There's no way on earth that the Halo bundle only sold 30k in preorders over two months.

I'm not saying that the XB1 didn't win October (clearly it did), all I'm saying is taking ONLY the October numbers without preorders would show that Amazon was correct in predicting which console sold more.

Looks like Amazon is right on the money. We had months of Halo pre-orders ranking. That just shows the power of big bundles. Next up Star Wars and COD.

Well, as I said before, in the spirit of Amazon I'm going to have to call it a loss for Amazon. Clearly it got the sales right this month but we've got no way of proving that even though it's obvious.

Just an FYI, Halo 5 ranked 24th in august, not september
