Pretty disappointed about the microtransactions, although it is to be expected from ND. The purchasable perks and weapons in TLOU was pretty broken imo and we'll probably see something similar here. MP looks way to over the top, I can't imagine this being a very balanced MP at all.

I agree about the balance part. The DLC in LoU fucked it up big time and I watched a couple U4 MP videos and it just looks crazy, like CoD crazy. Not good. I enjoyed U2 MP for its simplistic arena MP gameplay. Now it looks over the top. Those totem pole things just look stupid and out of place.

i looked all over youtube for gameplay videos; where are you finding them?

Well, they did just confirm that you can buy all items with in-game currency, so you won't have to pay to get stuff, unless you just don't want to play the game to unlock stuff.

I hope that turns out to be true, and that it's not unreasonable hard to accumulate enough in game currency to compete with those that are purchasing op perks and weapons that will almost certainly exist.

ND said they are working on balance ao hopefully the gap between those who pay and those who don't won't be big. But ultimately it will definitely be there.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Slightly disappointing on the 900p front, i'd have preferred they went a bit further with the visual downgrades in favor of a better IQ, but the 60fps is nice to hear. I'm entirely in favor of 1080p/30fps for the SP, but the advantages of 60fps are a lot more relevant in the MP than they are in the SP

As for the micro transactions, i have no inherent issue with them, but i'm going to wait until the actual game is out before passing judgment.

Would have been better if they opted 900p and 60 for the campaign as well. 30 frames just doesn't feel next gen to me. Game looks great but when your playing it, the 60 frames is what my eyes love to see.

60fps was never the standard of consoles since they went 3D

fps is much more important than resolution. However, this game will not have dedicated servers which is BS. We are paying for an online service and p2p should be gone by now.

P2P is better

P2P is better

P2P can be better if implemented properly, and ND is very good at P2P imo.  However the primary advanage of dedicated servers is that they usually provide a more consistent and stable connection.  I think games that mix p2p and dedis are the best solution but, p2p should be just fine.

So many forums on the net are currently like:

Xb game 900p
PS: ha-ha underpowered
Xb: fps more important than res

PC: ha-ha I can play at 4k

PS game 900p
PS: fps more important than res
Xb: ha-ha not 1080pp

Pc: ha-ha I can play at 4k

Pc port of any multiplat.

Xb: better on xb, besides PC is expensive.

Ps: better on PS, besides PC is expensive.

Pc: ha-ha I can play it at 4k, peasants.

*cringe*

On topic thought it's about fucking time console games started having graphical options, let users set 720p, 900p, 1080p, let users set vsync, let users turn off certain graphical effects like motion blur / post processing, these are simply toggle options that would allow any player the freedom to run moat games how they want them, so long as you have hard coded defaults to switch back to the "too complicated" argument is both bullshit and insulting to gamers.

With that sort of freedom I'd run everything maxed out at 60fps but in 720p
