Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Aaron Greenber and Frank O'Connor deny Halo 5 PC version in development

- after Halo franchise director Frank O'Connor made the following comment during a live stream for GamesRadar:

"Microsoft has made a huge commitment to normalise the Windows experience across multiple platforms, so you're seeing elements of Windows 10 are going to appear on the Xbox and Cortana and stuff like that, There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC." he replied.

"There's nothing new to announce at this point, but it's absolutely not out of the bounds of reason, and we developed the game on an Intel platform, so it wouldn't be the hardest thing in the world to move it to PC and take advantage of PC stuff."

Live stream (around 31 min mark):

some people believed this comment was some sort of hint at the game coming to PC. However, both Frank O'Connor and Aaron Greenber went to Twitter to deny there's any PC version being in development right now.

- Frank O'Connor said:

- people went to Micro's marketing executive Aaron Greenberg with the question, to what he responded:

- then someone came back to O'Connor's Twitter account and faced him to what Greenberg said, to which he responded:

So there you have it.

What do you think? Do you believe this is the case, that there is nothing planned for Halo 5 PC at the moment?

Or do you think there is, for some reason, an attempt to stop the discussion of Halo 5 PC for the time being?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

ohh i will cry over this while i rest from playing ut2015 alpha

I think Halo will eventually come back to PCs, but its too soon for Guardians to come. I was thinking of bringing the MC collection in a year or two, if the XBone sales are not what Microsoft hopes.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I feel like if I ever wanted to buy an Xbox One in the future and I saw that Halo, which is most likely Microsoft's biggest first party IP, wasn't staying exclusive to it of all games, then I probably wouldn't want to buy an Xbox One anymore.

It would be the type of thinking where if they make their biggest IP not exclusive anymore then they have no reason not to do it to the rest of them. Why buy an Xbox One if all the games on it I can just get on PC and especially if they just put all first party games on PC as well.

Then why is this a thread in the first place.

Also I do think they would lose a lot of console sales if there was a pc version. It wouldn't be exclusive anymore, anyone could just say "Oh, instead of buying the console I can just buy it on PC".

And this surprises no one... well, only people that fail at reading comprehension and jump to conclusions too easily.

The last Halo game for PC was bad port of Halo 2 destined to push Windows Vista. If they wanted to bring Halo to PC, the first game they should port is The Master Chief Collection so PC gamers can play Halo 3 and 4.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

If Halo 1 and 2's sales on PC are any indication, then I don't see why MS would waste time on porting the game to PC.

Halo was never a big deal on PC. That said; there is a real lack of good FPS games on PC as well in the past few years.

Maybe a port will show up one day. The bigger question is; is there any point to it?

well some people ask stupid stuff on twitter and other people make threads about PR stuff from ms.

how big is the segment of the market that owns a good gaming pc and is willing to buy a xbone just for halo?

there are so many better fps for pc, nobody is waiting for a halo port.
