Forums - Gaming Discussion - customers can be so annoying!!!!

So the customer asked for the difference between A and B, and you give them C. It seems like you completely failed to answer the initial question they had and instead defaulted to your own personal bias. It's not a bad thing to push product C, but at least answer the customer's initial concern first. I'd say the fault lies with you and not the customer in this case.

I'd say it was impossible to answer the initial concern, without knowing how he would use it. You ar then hardly going to ignore what you consider to be the best option are you? I don't know but I would have thought he would have then offered the Samsung due to it having some water resistance.

I don't think there is any reason to be frustrated. If people already made up their minds before coming in the store then I think there is little chance that they will change their minds and go for an alternative.

Maybe he doesn't trust Sony phones...there's nothing wrong with that.  Or maybe he already bought one and had a bad experience.

So, as you called yourself in the op, you're a major sony fan, and when the customer asks, which isnbetter, iPhone or Galaxy phone, you let the Sony fan in you try to push a Sony phone down his throat, and when he wasn't interested, because, well, he never asked for a Sony phone, you got pissed and found the customer to be so annoying? Hmm, yeah, the customer was the annoying one, you're right.

Finally a sane comment. Everyone here is acting like the customer commited a crime when actually the op is just annoyed that the guy rejected his favorite brand.

I dont think the op would be annoyed if the costumer would have chosen something other than apple or SAMSUNG doesnt have to be a Sony. I think what annoys him is the hive mentality in the mobile phone market

I see you guys don't need to work with direct contact with customers... Just because a customer "knows" what he wants does not mean it's what he needs or should buy. There are other issues to consider aswell, like warranty issues and will he/she be happy and return for further purchases etc.

Looking at the customer's criteria, last thing he should get is an Iphone; it's damn expensive, Apple has maybe the shittiest warranty ever, and if it gets wet, it's going to break anyway. Maybe the Sony phone or cheapest Samsung you could find (don't lose much money when it breaks) would've been the best options.

I bet you this guy will start complaining about the small battery life of his phone.

And if he water damages it from Kayaking he'll either spend the money to get it fixed or try cash in on some refund.

Silly person.

The phone doesn't matter cause we ain't earning shit on it.. It's about accessories!
Should have said any phone he liked and sold him a tempered glass screen protector and an expensive rugged outdoor case like this:

That's how you make money in this business!

You are still ignoring the fact, that there are Samsung models with great battery life and resistance against water, dust, salt, vibration/shock and other influences.

Samsung phone <> Samsung phone, iPhone <> iPhone, Sony phone <> Sony phone

Some Samsung phones have good battery life, some Samsung phones have bad battery life. Some iPhones have good battery life, some iPhones have bad battery life. Some Sony phones have good battery life, some Sony phones have bad battery life. Some are waterproof, some are not.

The best consulting of a customer would be giving him several options fitting his requirement, not only 1 model/brand.

The customer isn't silly. The OP overreacted. As some people said before, you don't know the reasons why the person didn't take the op's advice into consideration . Besides there's nothing wrong with that.

Maybe he asked you a question he already knows the answer to because he wanted to start an intimate conversation, but you were too dense to pick up on that so he just bought a Samsung and left with a broken heart.
