Well hardly everything. I even get the feeling the BPjM is getting a bit more lenient lately.

BlOps3 will be uncut (BlOps wasn't)
Fallout 4 will be uncut (Fallout 3 and Vegas weren't)
Mortal Kombat X is uncut (probably the first in the series)

Gee, i wonder why then games like GTA, Watch_Dogs, Saints Row and God of War keep throwing stripclubs, titties and porn in our face and get away with it by selling millions of units uncensored over here in the West. These are all western games and what do they in common with a game like Fatal Frame V? They're all rated mature.

There is nothing out of the norm or "too Japanese" about a girl in a bikini in a videogame especially not if it's for mature audiences, western games have nude women and sex everywhere and if you ask me this has become the norm for mature rated titles now a days.

Hence the phrase "they believe." I never claimed Nintendo was correct in their thinking, just that that's their perception of what their US audiences will find acceptable. Like I said, if you want this perception to change, your route goes directly through changing Nintendo's mindset.

I am deciding, this time, not to read what everyone has to say since it's mostly the same thing over and over. Maybe someone has already said this, but censorship exists for several reasons. One of the obvious ones are the legal ones. Typically those have to do with ethics enforced by a government body, and that isn't something you can change very easily. The one talked about here, though, is a business decision. Why it exists is to make it more marketable and/or get around an ESRB rating change. It's not as stupid as you guys think it is. The decisions aren't made blindly.

edit: Not to say I agree with the censorship, but that you need to consider the actual reasons before just complaining about it and expecting it to change.

It seems like splitting hairs because you do care about the content being changed. But I get what you mean.

I find it very hypocritical that Nintendo censors Tharja in the game. But doesn't do anything to block the statue from being sold here.

Censorship in rated T games and lower I can understand.

Censorship in rated M games? That's where it gets ridiculous.

Do people actually get that mad?

Who cares! There's literally no difference between a character wearing a bikini or not.

Just play the game. Even if it's rated mature, it's not the end of the world.

Why do we need censorship? Go to a elementary school busstop and listen to what comes out of the mouths of those little angels! We need a better system of keeping the adult themes and language out of the kids' range. Like your X/W/P4 requests your ID number to let it play anything above PGteen. Same with cable TV, gotta punch in your ID everytime to get M or Teen content. We are truly going to be sorry in 15 years that we allowed kids to see/hear anything they want because parents are just babysitters nowadays...
