Forums - PC Discussion - One Life: videogame in which you die once and can't play ever again

I know That as real life and it's boring to not dare.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Around the Network

It's a nice concept but definitely won't worth much. Making it a free game will make the game's concept useless. While making it payable will not only frustrating to most players but they will also have less profit from the game. It's a nice try though. Yeah it's hard to think of a way to really prevent gamers to replay the game whether it's paid or not.

Brilliant idea. This is going to be a real winner, that's a licence to print money right there.

[/sarcasm]

This can't be real, surely..?

It would be be better if you die you cant play the game for a week or so thats a better model but tis stupid to pay and not be able to play again if you die.

That is an extremelly bad idea, because that would make the game flawed in the most basic level.I could see it barely working as a free game, but as a paid game, and a 10 dollars game at that?
But, if you want my genuine opinion, is that this game is fake, and this is all some prank or something of the like.

so the arcades were flawed? thats how gaming was made

What in the ever loving hell are you talking about? Nobody is hating on roguelikes. Roguelikes are interesting and fun when done right, and the idea of one life to game over is fairly interesting. Where this game goes far south, and what you apparently completely missed judging by your post that makes next to zero sense, is the fact that you have only one life. One life. Period. That's it. Once you die, you're locked out of a game you paid money for. That is an awful model. Seriously bad. If you don't see that, then I can just add you to the list of people I hope are never in charge of game design on any level.

the arcades work the same....

And yes you can restart the game by rebuying the game again with a different steam account

Is this what hardcore people do?
Just how hardcore do I have to be to be able to differentiate myself from being a chump and a mindless idiot?
