Forums - Website Topics - Is VGChartz facing an impending crash?

We just need to find a substitute. We've been spoiled by the "weekly" numbers long enough, so just another forum won't do. That's why VGC will have a long life...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

You think those site outages are coincidences?

In this day and age, with the Internet, ignorance is a choice! And they're still choosing Ignorance! - Dr. Filthy Frank

I've definitely given up on the sales of this site. I made one last hope thread, but now I really don't care. It's a forum, now. I've honestly even been thinking of making a Tumblr blog to mark my thoughts on the industry instead of making them threads here. At least there it can build a resume and encourage me to care about the grammar and editing.

VGC's problem isn't just keeping up to date - it's modernizing. It's out of date in so many ways, both inside and outside of sales data; the lack of digital sales being my biggest issue. It doesn't matter how unfeasible it is. It's a large and relevant part of the industry that there is no intent on covering adequetely. I'm sure the issues are complicated and there is an effort behind the scenes to fix some of it, but good intentions only matter so much. Results or bust.

Honestly, this is the best videogame forum that ive ever seen.

The community is very knowledgeable and the discussions are pretty good.

My only complain is the moderation on this site. I find it waaay too unbalanced between one mod and the other. Some will ban you for the stupidest thing, while others will ignore some hardcore trolling.

Also, ive noticed that there is a select few that get away with Mike Tyson jabs every now and then, i wont name names but they are fanatic of the same console.

Will do!

I like your structure. If I make one, you'll be the first person I follow. Please post that link on my wall so I don't lose it in the future!

o: Where would we migrate to...?

I wish the numbers would come back. It was the main draw for me in the beginning. Though the site can still function as a place to discuss games ingeneral.

I'd migrate to Tumblr. I like what Emily Rogers does there. I could do that.

It's should be VGForums now. That's all I come here for. Even the latest news turns up in the forums before the news section on this site. Sometimes, I swear the VGC writers use the forums to get the latest news and just cover it with their own article.
