My question is, do you think that the 65 included songs are enough?

Seeing how there are almost 2000 songs that you could download, they could have added more for the retail version of this game imo.

Its not like they are licencing the hottest, most expensive songs in the game, there are fillers on that catalog too.

How many songs does GTA have? Hell, even MGSV have tons of real life songs in there too.

You know... you've got a point there... hell, my radio station has thousands of songs and they don't even charge me for any of them! I'm outraged at Harmonix now!

I just play acoustic versions of songs with the lyrics on screen for free lol.

Also karaoke machines probably have a much more diverse library than 65 songs.

My Wii U has a karaoke thing on it, not sure what that's about tbh.

I don't know anyone here who's into karaoke... I heard it's pretty big in Japan though.

Rock Band has a measured pitch (something karaoke machines don't have) so you actually have to sing in tune to chain combos if doing vocals.

Karaoke Machines use discs which you have to purchase (if you are going to legitimately expand your song collection) you get about 10-15 songs on a disc for.

Karaoke is pretty big in most of the world. Though unless you're going to the bars that are doing it you won't come across it.

This is what most people look and sound like when playing Rockband. I have some friends who love it and I've sat there enough times to know what the games are like. I tried Rockband 4 once at a friend last week and threw the controller away the second I realized I'm left handed and game developers don't give a shit about me.

For me video games are about doing things that aren't possible in real life. Everyone can learn to play music.

You mean they took the lefty flip out? Not got Rock Band 4 yet so don't know personally but previously ones did have left handed settings.

Second part is quite simply not true. And certainly not in a way that is like you being a member of your favourite band.

As for how people look and sound playing it. Yes, it's meant to be like that. They're enjoying it. They'll never be of the standard needed to do it professionaly (very few ever will be, even very good musicians have to put up with performing as a hobby). If you aren't somebody who enjoys singing along to their favourite songs and get caught up in airguitar etc. you're quite simply not the audience.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Nobody is making you buy anything, if you do not want to buy it than move along

$2 a song is really not that bad. But some of the songs available are really not that good and should be less then $2.

LOL the people who think there is a problem here don't understand. This is really good for a music game to have it's not like we are paying for online or a career mode. It's just if you want to play more just buy more songs, and they are pretty cheap.

HOLY SHIT THE COMMENTS O_0
Maybe I need a break for VGChartz again. I can handle the bashing of companies I like such as SQEX or Nintendo, but I not sure Im cut out for the bashing of a genuine consumer friendly dev like Harmonix doing the best they fucking can to provide you with awesome content at a reasonable price while still turning a fucking profit. Because at the end of the day they too have families to feed -____-
FUCK ME!!!!!

I'm surprised by the reactions in this thread. What is wrong with having a lot of DLC available for your game. It is completely optional content. It should also be noted that the DLC available for Rockband for is the cumulation of DLC for Rockband 1, 2, 3 & 4.

It is quite surprising that they are charging $2 for songs when the same songs can be purchased and owned on iTunes and other platforms for half the price.

Of course it is going to cost more than a song available on iTunes. You have to pay the artist for the song ($1) plus the effort put into charting the song and making it available in Rockband, plus the small cut that goes to Sony for hosting the content on the PSN store.

Half the people commenting probably don't realize this and most likely were never going to purchase this game. All picket signs and pitch forks...

All the songs are from previous games, so all the work was already done (and paid for by people who bought their bad and uninspired games).

Not sure why people pay to play QTE: the game though.

And they're all available to download for new people, and if you already bought them you still have them (if you're on the same console)

@bolded I don't even..

It's not a rythym game as you can play these kind of games with the sound turned off. ;)

Most people will buy this on PS4/XBONE, so they will have to rebuy it lol.

What rhythm game can you not play with the sound off?

No no no if you had a PS3 and have a PS4 (same with Xbox) then you get all your songs for RB4 that you purchased available for no extra charge. You have to rebuy if you swapped consoles and that' (MS/Sony's) fault not harmonix.

Also it's ONLY on PS4/XB1 I'm not sure how serious you're being but you really don't know anything about this game dude xD

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

That's horrible. And insane. I'll just go to sleep now.

This is far from DLC going crazy. This is about a huge amount of content for a consumer to choose from. Being able to get more songs for a game is a good thing. Being able to use songs you bought for previous versions of a game is a good thing.
