Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Unverified dev guesses: NX might more powerful than PS4/XBONE, based on a PC demo...

I'll wait to see official gameplay. I remember the last time people got over excited about Wii U before the games were even shown.

Still hurts today.

For me, nintendo's first party games are crap.....  Don't crucify me. I'm just not interested in mario, zelda or donkey kong. So unless nintendo started to produce IPs that interest me, I wouldn't touch their consoles. It could have all of the 3rd party support and the best online network for all I care.

I personally love Nintendo games but I think a lot of people are like u, do people really believe that the audience for games like GTA/COD/FIFA is the same as games like Mario/MK/Smash? I'm sure there is some crossover of people who enjoy both sides but that's likely a small percentage and a big reason why simply getting those games on Nintendo consoles is not enough.

gta is for everyone, and i think no cod is a good thing, not a bad.

Going by what was said in the WSJ report about the NX having "industry leading chips" makes me think that industry leading means performance per watt and/or performance per ²mm (of silicon) and my guess is Nintendo are going with AMD for the SoC

Makes sense. with no gamepad + 3rs after ps4, its clear Nintendo can make a comparable/better HW at $299 if they wanted.  The real problem is the power consumption, which Nintendo seems obsessed about, and if they stay at 28nm they can't get a gpu under 75w near PS4 level.  If they go for the new arctic island amd finfet 14/16nm chips in 2016, it would make more sense (big increase in performance per watt) but then would be costly, which IMO would push the NX back to 2017.

yeah i think its highly likely Nintendo go for a 14nm Zen APU for the NX. But i think Nintendo won't go for a dGPU as i think manufacturing cost would near double

No COD is unequivocally a bad thing.

Nintendo alienating such a large demographic is absolutely not a good idea. These aren't lower class citizens. They are normal people who are fans of a consistantly well made franchise.

What's the point of this when Nintendo doesn't bother with third party? Better looking Nintendo first party? Yippe?

Wait for nx if its bc then win win
