No idea what happened to this game, it would be sad if the third-party publisher cancelled it because Tantalus worked on it since 2013.

But why would they wait so long with an announcement? Maybe the game was supposed to be announced sooner but after Iwata's passing they decided to postpone the announcement? I think this explanation would be more likely: The game was scheduled for late 2015 but with Zelda U being ported to NX they decided to release TPHD in mid 2016 to give the Wii U one exclusive Zelda game next year.

Well, or it's all just speculation and the rumors about it being just a Wii Virtual Console release are true.


Well wouldnt make sense to release zelda twhd and zelda u both in 2016 in my opinion.

Zelda U is 100% still coming to wii u and MAYBE beeing ported to NX. 

Mabye twilight princess HD will be released this year? Keep in mind Zombi just got announced like 2 weeks before release. Maybe nintendo wants to surprise us or anything. It wouldnt make much sense though, their e3 appearance wouldnt looks as bad if they would have revealed twilight princess hd port^^

Well depends on how tantalus is defining "third party". 

Third party publisher could also be like: "A publisher thats not tantalus".

From tantalus perspective, nintendo is a third party publisher i guess?

 

Also only the guy who asked questions said about third party publisher, but we will see :P

I believe there is no TP HD port and whatever tantalum was working on is now cancelled. Such is life.

It makes sense, but i hope its not.I want Tantalus to bring games that dosnt usually come to the Wii U, and if the Twilight princess HD was the game that they were working the whole time, I would be dissapointed

We know they worked at least two years on their biggest project ever, so I dont think that game would be cancelled after so much work and resources spent.

Maybe, but why not show said game already? I reckon it's cancelled due to very low user base

We dont know if its a canceled, only thing we know is that Tantalus worked more than two years on it, its their biggest project ever and it was aimed to be released this year.

But like I wrote, I don't think it was cancelled because too many resources and time was spend, in worst case that game now could be NX game. Saying that, TP HD have some chances to be Tantalus game.
