How about the mere fact of charging more for less should be seen as a bad thing, and if people just roll over and take it the industry will just keep piling on more and more abuisive practices. At some point even people like you must conclude that way publishers are trying to squeeze money out of you is beyond reasonable. Heck if gamers can get all up in arms about actors wanting royalties why can't they be bothered getting up in arms about shitty pricing models? Are we that addicted to gaming that we will take anything as long as we get to play? That's a pretty scary future we face if so.
