Price, advertising, word of mouth?

So you're saying the Nathan Drake Collection will sell consoles.

No, Drive Club and Little big planet didn't sell consoles, but the majority of their sales derived by bundle

So all bundled game sell consoles, obviously.

Interesting. So when a person buys a console and has a choice between a Destiny bundle, a Assassin's Creed bundle, Star Wars Bundle or Nathan Drake Bundle, they just pick one of those randomly because all they really wanted was the console. Of course not. People who buy the Nathan Drake Bundle, buy it because they want the Nathan Drake game and not Destiny, Star Wars or Assassin's Creed. In other words you can't keep using the whole stupid bundled argument to try and downlplay the sales of a game ... BUT, if that game was given away for free ...

Looks like Nathan Drake Collection was more than doubled by The Master Chief collection's 1st week. Not too good seeing as how its Sony's 1st party exclusive for the Holidays.

Using VGC numbers, they both did similar in terms of performance compared to the last mainline entry in the franchise. Expecting the NDC to come close to the MCC in terms of raw numbers in the UK wouldn't be founded in reality, because Halo is a much bigger franchise than Uncharted in the UK, so these numbers shouldn't really be that shocking at all.

UC3 - 132k first week, NDC - ~40k first week. Ratio: 3.25:1

Halo 4 - 378k first week, MCC - 103k first week. Ratio: ~3.7:1

5 days vs 2 days of tracking? Hmmm.

Sony's  desperate I guess but atleast sales won't drop like a rock like MCC did on its 2nd week last year.

What does that matter? Do you think it'll be a big difference with 3 more days added on to it?

If that's your argument it's seriously weak. The ratio one is a much better conclusion.

We don't know whether the distribution is equal among all bundles (probably not, Star Wars will easily sell the most because of known reasons). Also people will buy a console with 4 games instead of getting one? Those crazy people seeing more value in 4 games than in 1.

Also, I won't downplay game sales because of bundling, that "invention" in forum ammunition is way too old for it. I say that the game will stay in the UK charts because of bundling. You are free to disagree with that, of course.

Yes, I agree that a bundle with more than one game is a different proposition, but you didn't say it will be bundled with other games, you said:

'Of course it will have legs because of the bundling'.

But what about the install bases at the times? 360 was already beating PS3. When MCC released the install base was around 1 million. While PS4's is surely over 2million at the time Nathan Drake Collection released. Yet it sold less than half the copies.

Well not surprising to see rock band 4 flop. They did even make enough copies for the goddamn game. Anyone have an idea on numbers?
