Forums - Movies & TV - I'm Not Scared Of Scary Movies: Help Me

So, whenever my friends/family want to watch a scary movie I'm never scared. Everyone else is tense or they get scared by some stupid monster that just "appears". I just don't find them scary at all. Is there something wrong with me? Name me some scary movies that might scare me but be warned, I probably won't be scared.

I would say that is how most people are

I have that same feeling with scary games. They're not scary to me. It sucks, I want to experience fear too

If you want a very scary movie, watch Spider-Man 3.

Yeah, games as well. My brother is scared of Resident Evil games for real. I feel so bad for him.

It depends of what kind of spectator you are, some people barely get themself into the movies and they need a superficial terror, like the classics jumpscares, the music gettind loud suddlenly and things like that to scare them, and those tricks are already too used and does not have effect for other kind of people.

On the other hand there are people that get too much into the films and psychologic terror affects them a lot, I was genuinely scared watching The Babadook and It Follows, they were in my head for weeks, the same happens with some older movies like Rosemary's Baby, yet I know there are a ton of people that feel absolutely nothing watching them.

Personally I think the movie that scared me the most was The Ring, is not my favourite terror movie at all, but holy shit, it gets under your skin.

That's the thing, it doesn't even matter the type of terror. The things that scare me most are the things that can actually happen to you. If it's something like a possessed doll or Five Nights at Freddy's, it just doesn't register as "scary". It may just be my personality. I'm very much a reallist. I'll look at the Ring tonight, hope it's on Netflix or Hulu.

I'm never scared either... Just laugh at monsters and ugly killers...

I envy you. I shit my pants when I watched the Signs for the first time

REALLY? Sounds promising, I'll take a look at it eventually. I just hate being the dry guy at the friday night scary movie gathering. I just kinda hate that my mind thinks the way it does. I only get scared of things like cancer...life issues.

The houses that October built.

Just endure some absolutely horrible acting for about half the movie.
