November and December to be above 1m then for PS4. October still a loss imo.

Now to see what MS do.

For me, it was already going to be close, so in the light of this news, that's a brave prediction.

COD LE 429.99? Should be 399.99

Well, the LE would still be $399.99 if it was a 500GB, but it looks like they're tacking on $30 for the extra 500GB. The pricing is a little odd since the LE Battlefront bundle was dropped $50, but all I can assume is that they wanted to tack on $30 for the extra 500GB to begin with, but didn't want to price the system that close to $500.

Once 1TB systems are normal, I'm guessing they'll retail for about $380.

The starwars bundle for 350$ will fly off shelfs.  its weird they are just dropping the price of the 450$ bundles by just 20 dollars. i guess that was always the plan for them to be priced at 430$.

guess the Destiny bundle will disapear soon? such a shame because its a fantastic looking console. and if it were priced at 350$ with D:TTK it would have been flying off shelfs.

What you want $50 of a limited edition console? no chance.

Not sure about that. This gives Sony 1 1/2 weeks of uncontested sales of the new price cut. Whatever gains Microsoft will get from halo will probably be eaten by the time the bundle goes on sale.

I think preorders for next month's bundles, especially the LE Star Wars bundle,  will receive a nice bump. Between that and Halo, I think Xbox will still come out on top, but by a significantly smaller margin than I thought previously.

I also thought MS would win November and December,  but now I think it is up in the air. Right now I would have PS4 as favourite,  but MS will react I'm sure.

it was already 400$. so it would just have followed suit with most of the bundles and got a 50$ price cut.

And that's your October folks.

Waiting for that Xbox price drop that should be announced any second/minute/hour/day/week now.

Kidding...or maybe not? Hmm...

Now we all know who's going to win October NPD and it certainly isn't the one that has two Xs on it. I think.

realistically just how close was it going to be? PS4 were pretty much neck in neck in August. while PS4 most likely won in Sept because of MGS and the Destiny bundle. just how much of an effect would they have going into Oct?

first week PS4 wins. second week PS4 wins might win, but halo momentum might kick in, certainly going to be close. third week the LE Halo bundle releases and XB1 wins due to months of pre-orders on the LE bundle. fourth week Halo 5 releases and XB1 wins easily. i doubt the two weeks PS4 possibly might have won and the momentum from Destiny and MGS are enough to counter the release of the LE halo bundle and halo 5's release.

this gives it a fighting chance certainly, but before XB1 was always going to win.
