Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Price Dropped To $349.99 In US. Rash Folk Got Lucky.

I think I'll be getting a PS4 soon. Looks like the xbox one won't be winning any NPDs the rest of the year.

We will have to see how they respond. But i think MS would have to go to $299 or a truly incredible bundle at this point to really make a stand. And they do still have Halo 5 and Tomb Raider.

Awesome. Looks like ps4 will keep it's Amazon dominance with this going forward.

No way a $500 Xbox wins against a $349 ps4, unless Microsoft reacts with a price cut of their own over the weekend, which I wouldn't be shocked at all. In fact I almost expect it between now and Monday.

I just noticed that the Nathan Drake bundle releases 9th of October and the price cut is for the 10th. Does that mean it will be $50 more only for the first day? That would piss off first day buyers so much. :-p

this certainly makes Oct a lot more interesting. what was once a certained win for XB1 isnt anymore. i still think XB1 can edge it out though.

also, dont think that MS wont respond with a price cut. i expect them to do so.

MS will probably drop the price to $300 but I think it won't do much. The PS4 is selling really well and I think there's probably some hold outs waiting til a price cut to get a PS4. I'm sure it will cause a huge surge in PS4 sales because it's the first price drop.

It might not do much for the xbox one considering this is the PS4 1st price drop in the US. It's gonna be unpredictable.

The price cut is also scheduled for Friday as well. The uncharted bundle and price cut are happening on Friday together. They're not a separate event.

Limited edition Star Wars for $399 now, going to sell very well.

Although I guess they lost $50 on all the preorders so far

You know that's BraLoD all over it

I suggested it was possible, but I didn't expect it until PGW. I'm not giving you credit for being lucky!

The PS5 Exists.

The price drop starts from October 9th which is the same release day as the Uncharted collection.

I can only imagine that this was a planned move by Sony, since they know that the price cuts lead to sudden jumps in sales.

With the price cut in October and Call of Duty and Star Wars Battlefront in November, I think the PS4 is deliberately attempting to maintain dominance in what much of the media and Microsoft claim should be a Holiday season that massively closes the gap between the two platforms.

At this point, I think it's up in the air between PS4 and Xbox One regarding who will win the October NPD, and with Halo coming at the end of the month, that is not a good situation for Microsoft.

If PS4 wins the October NPD and the November NPD, you will definitely see major news sites proclaiming (undeniably prematurely) the death of the XBox One.
