Good luck trying to beat shemue 3 and final fantasy 7 remake

Those are not fiirst party. The only new first party title was Horizon in e3. I think its highly possible if they show Granturismo and some other game

Am I the only one who thinks Sony didnt have a "Megaton" E3? I didnt find anything surprising besides Shenmue 3...

It will just be another showing.

Well when you can make media personalities jump on tables, hide behind chairs and cry out of sheer joy, I think you're doing something right!

But maybe they are just missing all of your beats.... they have to applease so many people it is hard to make everyone happy.

What sorts of games lineups would make you go "wow"?

I really hope this isn't just a dig at Sony for not being MS....

I personally dont understand why people make a big deal about things. The only Wow was SHenmue 3 for me because I am in love and still play the first two. Yet I still dont care when or how they announce it. Dont try to surgar coat it for me, just give it to me raw. I think MS and Sony both had good showings overall but I am not going to freak out about things.

I guess I just dont have a care about these MS vs Sony BS, I just care more about the game overall and not going to care how trailers look because that doesnt determin final gameplay. I also dont play games as much anymore so most games are Meh to begin with. Never really a FF fan, and Sony's IP's dont look interesting to me persoanlly. MS doesnt really have many options that I enjoy either (just halo and forza).

I am getting myself confused for some odd reason, I feel like I am not staying constant on this thought.

But game that make me really go "wow", there is none, I wont lose sleep over something that is out of my control untill I play it and enjoy the moment which it gives me.

Topping E3 2015? No chance. We'll probably get a few good announcements (Quantic Dream + GT7), Dreams gameplay, Uncharted 4 multiplayer, possibly a little Horizon? Maybe Sony London has some things to show off.

First party only, now? Answer is still no.

really?

Do you notice how there is no source in the OP? I don't know why you are acting so high and mighty. I dont know exactly what the guy said, so you can't hold it against me. Just went off what the OP said. Wether he was acurate or not, is not really my say (though i assume of good faith that its accurate). Actually, you havent posted the source aswell.

I would like to know exactly what this "guy" said now.

Regardless, this sounds like a very pety debate. The question here is: What can be this megaton that is bigger than E3?

Cute.

But hen you should call out the OP no? Other ppl in this thread have been saying the same thing I have. Its not just me. We didnt bother with a source because this info is from nearly 2 months ago and I am pretty sure its in another thread about PGW.

But here we go. This Zoetis guy claimed PGW would be better than E3.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=175801478&postcount=218

After lots of ppl saying it s not possible (or that it is) he makes the mention that he thought ppl wanted 1st party content above all

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=175898189&postcount=464

So yes, as I have been saying: its a rumour, the OP here is wrong, this insider claims that 1st party wise PGW is going to be better than E3.

Fair enough. I agree then.

Quite possible. If i'm not mistaken their was only one new first party IP introduced. Horizon Zero Dawn. So all it takes is one (or two) interesting new IP(s).

We know of several sony studios working on unannounced (or not properly introduced) PS4 projects.

Quantic Dream (they are not really first party though)

Bend

Media Molecule

Studio Santa Monica

And i guess "first party showing" includes showcasing already introduced IPs. Like Zero Dawn, Rigs, TLG aso. Haven't seen much of the Last Guardian.

We all have our own subjective opinions on what's big or not, personally I think indie games nowadays can be just as big in scope as AAA developed games, mainly because those studios are working within their means and making more efficient use of their resources.

A lot of what you see at GC from Sony over the last 3 or so years has been these sort of titles. 2011 was really the last year Sony went all out and treated GC as a platform for their high profiler AAA budget titles.

But that is why fans love their GC conferences. it focusses on creativity, variety and new IP pushing from Sony.

But PGW is going to be a different beast. Sony will keep the same angle but they ar edefinitely going to add more powerhouse reveals to their lineup. if anything, they are carrying momentum from E3 and TGS, and PGW is a prime position to push the PS4 brand for the remainder of the holiday season, by showcasing that they have some good stuff coming from their studios.

I think PGW is going to be more exciting than the last few GC of late because of so many different factors, including ones you mentioned like potential Sony London reveals etc, and it is harder to really gauge what kind of Sony we are going to see.

Date closing in soon. cant wait.

Hm, true.

However. Since Gamescom is close to E3 it naturally is overshadowed by the significance of the "big event brother". This year there wasn't even a two month gap between the two. The close proximity always makes it feel a little cramped.

The date the PGW is set falls right into holiday season. Or right before PreXmasBusiness - Vorweihnachtsgeschäft. I must admit i haven't heard about PGW till it was announced that Sony will be there with an international media blitzkrimeanbriefing. First held in 2010 the annual event is almost as big as GamesCom. A good time for shifting focus... to a much more prominent season.

And what does Shuhei Yoshida have to say to this?

"In terms of positioning of the press conference for Paris Games Week, it’s exactly the position that we used to have for gamescom. So, you can look back on what we did for gamescom in the past. We actually announced many games from both first-parties and third-parties."

@JustBeingReal

"mainly because those studios are working within their means and making more efficient use of their resources."

I don't want to disagree. But many of those indies (available and coming) on Sony plattforms received and receiving a lot of help in various forms.
