They won't need kinect. Microsoft has more money than Sony and Microsoft combined. They can advertise and buy their way in. If they make a big minecraft game that is exclusive to xbox one and probably pc. That alone will push more units than kinect would've. Microsoft can afford to expand while Sony and Nintendo can't. Remember, Microsoft bought Gears and Minecraft this gen alone, they can buy other big name software ip. Don't be suprise in the next year or so you hear Microsoft buying bestheda games, respawn entertainment, NFL license to make madden exclusively or more. They don't care so much about losing or making a profit on the xbox they just want windows in people's living room and stop Sony from taking over. They will do what it takes.

Too many wet dreams there, anyway, I was just disagreeing with your statement of every xbox selling better than the previous one.  Also you should add MS trying to acquire Sony to your wishlist.

Why would Microsoft want to aquire a failing company like Sony? Sony is constantly losing money and their stocks are like only one step above garbage. Microsoft is only interested in winning companies or companies that have a potential of becoming winners. Sony is not a company that can become winners. Also, another thing I forgot to mention is Japanese people is basically leaving the console industry and moving into mobile industry. That was one advantage Sony had that was big before, but now even the fastest selling console currently could only sell 2 million in Japan in two years. It is only going to get worse as time goes by when Japanese video game publishers start leaving the industry like Konami and possibly NIS.

Launches aligned, I think the XBO is still ahead of the 360, mainly due to a better launch and the huge spike in sales due to the $349 price last holiday season.  But, considering they are doing much worse in EU and the ROW compared to the 360, it won't bee too much longer before the 360 overtakes it.  Which is why I'm not sure why they continue to say this, as it will end one day, and people will be able to use it against them.  I suppose they have to use something, though.

When the PS3 was struggling people always said the PS3 would be able to catch up. Why would that not be possible for the X1, simply because Europe is doing less good than last gen for xbox?

Oh, anything is POSSIBLE.  Just not probable.

There is so much wrong with this, I don't know where to begin.

How? Sony is constantly losing money and even the Japanese government won't bail out Sony if they go bankrupt. Microsoft doesn't want to spend over 20 billion dollars to aquire a company that is always posting year loses. Microsoft may want to expand and get windows into people's living room, but they are not going to spend money on a company with a bleak future.

"To some it might seem like I should judge our success based on how we do against Sony. Honestly, I don’t. They’re having great success with PS4. They built a nice product in the console. They’re seeing the results of that. For us, we’re selling more Xbox Ones than we did 360s. The thing I’m focused on more than anything is that our usage on Live continues to grow. We have more gamers playing games on our platform," Spencer told VB.

Anyone who is not a Microsoft haters or looking to turn anything Spencer (or Xbox related) into something bad or fanboysism (not calling anyone specifically a fanboy here, just including this group of people) can read this very clearly: More gamers than ever on MS platforms...

He is not even talking about Sony or any other competitors or about having more players than other platforms. Spencer esp. says that he does not even want to compare it the PS4 (for good or bad reasons), so oh dear, lot of noise and assumptions for nothing as always GibbleGrunger when it comes to something about Microsoft lol

Well then he should've said that. But he didn't.

Besides what he said, respectively what he didn't say. It isn't good feat if the words of this man must be edited constantly and put into "right" perspective. It rather shows Spencers incompentence in giving interviews - or - the fail of Microsoft to make the mistake of mentioning the competition on a regular basis. Maybe it would be better if he shuts the hell up and put more emphasis on the production of first party games. How about that? Less talk, more game.

How? Why! The words you're writing just don't represent reality. You're indulging in wishful thinking.

They also still have the advatange of ALL of Europe and all the "others" so they still have some pretty big advantages at Sony as far as the console industry goes. And I still want to know if your truly beleive that MS doesn't care about winning or about losing money as long as they stop Sony....like were you being serious when you said that?

It should have been stopped hours ago.

Unfortunately, people just can't drop petty shit. Thread derailed. Locking.
