People who instead of buying the game at launch just wait for it on ea access as it's proven to be a wait of only 7-12 months, and people who otherwise pick up games cheaper, which costs more than a year's sub of access. There must be something obvious we are missing. Are Microsoft subsidising it so as that ea incur minimal potential losses? May explain why it's not on pc at least. But really, coming from the same studio who heavily pushed multiplayer codes to play online, this is weird as hell |
I think people who really want the game will buy at launch. The ones who wait for games to be a lower price/used is what the service is for. So they're making their money from the people who don't buy thier games brand new. I was interested in Hardline but not enough to go buy it new. Now I might end up buying DLC for it with my access.
Plus, they have the people on other consoles buying their games either way.

Yeah, what you said makes me think microsoft must be giving EA probably like a few extra bucks per subscription. You were already paying for access, but you (not you but generally) would've bought it when it was cheaper, maybe $20. The purchase of 2 cheaper ea games per year probably makes more for ea than a years sub.
Unless i'm missing something obvious. But otherwise, if this was as big a money maker as I cannot see, I wonder why it's not on PC.
Unless EA are selflessly being nice.
