Smash 4 started developement in 2012 and released in 2014, and I'm sure Sakurai would have loved to have more time with the game (It was hinted in all the delays and some interviews). With the NX getting closer and closer, when do you think Nintendo will get to work on the next one? Or do you think Smash 4 will be the Smash the NX gets, but with updated graphics and all the WiiU DLC already included?

They release only one game for each platform, and I don't think the NX is coming next year.

So, Nintendo is probably going to update Smash 4 for the next year, and maybe start developing the next game around 2017.

I think a enhanced port of the WiiU-version than a completely new one is more likely

Probably in a couple of years, with a release of date of 2019 or 2020!

Super Smash Bros. for NX (remaster) is more likely with all the DLC and characters that weren't possible on 3DS (Ice Climbers and transforming characters).

I hope they just stop already and just release one final smash game as an infinite platform to forever update. There doesn't need to be a Smash 5. Just update Smash 4 forever on the NX with DLC.

Also, Sakurai is killing himself with that franchise. Let him let it go. I love Smash, but we don't need another one. Smash 4 is fucking (almost) perfect. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Pixar quality graphics... NO, SPEM!

In the meantime, obligatory Nintendo vs. Capcom plug is obligatory. Give me that as a launch game on the NX, and it will be my first launch system. Fuck being an intelligent consumer. Samus Aran vs. Dante. "Too big" Ridley playable as a giant player character with two health bars. Make it happen Ninty.
