So, even with the massive backlash of the fans with MGSV, I managed to buy it on september 10 or so, with my expectations not far from zero, due to all these people who disliked the game and claimed kojima fooled them, I've finally played it. The verdict ? I'm still playing it, after more than 80 hours, and I'm probably gonna 100% it.
I've played every MGS game multiple times (even the awful Peace Walker), I'm a big fan of the series, and the third one, Snake Eater, always was my favorite, but now, I've finally someone to beat it : The Phantom Pain. I'm totally serious.
The gameplay is incredible, the best stealth gameplay ever, the story was as great as ever, the characters's story were sad, complex, frustrating, charming.
The final cutscene of mission 45 almost made me cry, the Quiet story was really touching. The way Huey was revelead to be a incredible liar and monster who only deserved to be thrown out of Mother Base, frustrated me so much, 'cause he was at first one of my favorite characters in the MGS series. The death of Skull Face was fantastic, extremely well narrated, and the boss fight against Sahelanthropus is awesome !
And finally, the mission 46, where all the truth is revealed, and what a truth, absolutely unexpected. The way the game break the fourth wall to say it's the player who builded the legend of Big Boss is probably one of the best scene in the entire history of video games.µ
I've loved Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain to death. It's the best in the whole series and probably one of the best games I've ever played. I've not been immersed in such a great game since a long time. What a surprise, when almost everyone I know was disappointed by the game.
I wanted to share that, to know if others people are in the same situation as me, or if I'm just a single fool.
