Forums - Gaming Discussion - Pretty much every time you buy a PS4 exclusive game, you're supporting Microsoft.

Havoc is easilly replacable, Sony will make their own physics egnine for these studios or use Physx

If they really wanted too then sure, they're more than capable of creating in-house solutions for all of their games (like many publishers do), but there's no real need. They obviously feel, at least with certain games, that the cost of licensing Havok is worth skipping doing it themselves. As long as MS continue to allow them to buy the license (which i expect they will), they'll likely continue to make use of it.

Ummm, my "hatred" of Microsoft isn't relevant enough to even have an iota of effect on the games I purchase and play.

Really? and if how?

MS owns Minecraft. So MS is the ones cashing in on Minecraft sales on all systems. I wouldn't doubt if Minecraft on Vita is the best selling game MS ever had in Japan.

Wasn't the deal made and the game published by sony before microsoft purchased minecraft?

I have no words for this...

Sony makes a lot of money from the retail versions as they are the publisher. They also make some money from the digital versions as royalty money.

Besides, I dion't think MS can cash in on Minecraft yet when they haven't made anything on it in comparison to the $2.5 billion they spent on it.

Oh no, now my life is ruined because I'm supporting opposing companies every time I buy a PS4 game. I'll just have to sell my console and buy a Vita, that way I'm not supporting anybody.

Really, in this day and age it's no surprise that these companies are now interrelated within and outside of our industry. The console wars ended years ago.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

MS makes money from Sony and vice versa, Sony makes money from iphone, Samsung makes money from Sony. Yeah it's a crazy world we live in. So what's really the point of this thread?

Lol, what about every time you buy any game physically on Microsoft you're handing money to Sony (blu-Ray)

What are the implications of being a board member?

Btw, Blu-ray also uses VC-1, licensed by MS

They could, but nearly eveyrone uses MPEG-4 AVC now. Which is generally lisenced through Google.

Is there anything of proof in what you say? 50k Dollar, where does it come from? And why did you say "that is all"? What do they actually pay for? How do you know which codecs are used on blu-ray discs?

Mojang still get the dev cut of the revenue though and since Mojang are fully owned by MS that's MS taking money from it.

Ah ok. Thanks (if that is correct).
