Forums - Politics Discussion - I am voting for Donald Trump, who is with me?

I'm tempted. I want to see how people react when they learn he can't actually do most of his campaign promises.

I would criticise, but that's not too far off what I felt about Syriza in Greece (although I'm neither Greek or American so couldn't vote for either even if I wanted to).

I'd vote for him but I'm not American.

I can't believe people even consider voting for Trump, its unbelievable.
I also cannot stand Hillary Clinton. Pure manipulator and the definition of a politician. She has no plans to follow through with most of the things she says. She is a flip flopper, in the 90s she said she does not support gay people then in 2005 she released a video saying how important it is that we accept it as its a good thing or whatever.

Whereas you have Bernie in the 90s fighting for gay rights, equal pay for men and women, affordable healthcare, minorities and so many other things. He fights for what he believes is right and does not say the things in which he believes the people want to hear.

With Hillary backed by her Super Pacs, corporate America, things are not going to change. The rich will get richer the poor will get poorer and the middle class will continue to disappear. Same thing if any Republican becomes president. Pharmaceutical companies and healthcare insurance will continue ripping Americans off for another 8 years.

Bernie has gained support for these things, not increasing the minimum wage to 15$ over the next 10 years. Not voting for him just blows my mind. Hearing what he had to say made me want to go out and register to vote for the first time ever.
He is funded by the people and unions, not super pacs that want to continue lobbying to keep policies in their favor in the House and Senate. Money needs to gtfo of politics and without Bernie it will never happen.

Yeah, lowering the minimum wage of Americans to that of poor African countries is really good for the US. Have you heard the policies that he has promised?

I'm familar with most of his policies and I don't agree with all of 'em but overall, he's the best choice out of the options for the country. Minimum wage was never meant to be the equilevent of "making a living" off from it. It's really a short term arrangement til you can get the job you want or a better job or until you're done with school.  Raising minimum wage is only a short term band aid because prices will inflate right along with it.

Schooling is the most logical long term solution for anyone who wants a higher quality of life and to able to put a silver spoon in their kid's mouth.

Wait you mean raising minimum wage will cause no effect because prices change with it, but lowering minimum wage will cause an effect because prices do not change with it? Is this true? I don't know, I've only taken a couple of economics courses.

Higher minimum wages = higher prices or less work hours or both.

That isn't true. As you said minimum wage it's barely a wage meant to keep you alive without working like a slave (it's $5/h in US if I'm not wrong, it's already very low, in germany is 25€ with better welfare than the US).

If you lower the min. wage the poor will have to work more to stay alive, it won't affect prices because they will buy the same, just the things they HAVE to buy either way if they don't want to die.

I gave up on voting about 12 years ago.

Go Trump the Capitalist and he will help save America! Every other Presidential candidate is either a Socialist or Communism. Trump will win by default as he is the Capitalist that America needs to save America's economy.

This is how Hitler got elected. People saw a propaganda spouting bumbleing idiot, no one took too seriously. He got some votes from genuine supporters and some from people voting for him ironically or to make a statement against the established partys. It was enough to get a minor party into a position where they had the power to tip the scales one way or another. Everyone underestimated him, even other leading politicians at the time.

Bottom line is, no matter how screwed up your political system is, don't treat your vote as a joke.

This is so true. People might find it to be a to extreme of an example but this candidate want to deport 11 million human beings ATLEAST.

Trump should have been born here in the Philippines. He would fit perfectly right in.

But on a more serious note, any US President with the backbone to actually stop China stealing the West Philippine Sea would do. (Then again, I guess that would be WWIII in the making) lol!
