Interesting discussion on gaf npd prediction thread at the moment.

One gaffer says currently on Twitter, COD and battlefront are trending better than halo 5, which is shocking considering its halo and it launches in 5-6 days.

Another says he believes Microsoft is producing a low number of halo 5 LE consoles, basically for the diehards who are willing to pay the $500. How low a number isn't known but if you remember back last year with the white sunset overdrive LE bundle, that was extremely limited produced. I think it was under 50,000 if memory serves. Could be wrong.

Plus overall hype seems a lot more muted compared to older entries and marketing doesn't seem as high yet for a game coming out next week.

Just a few of the recent quotes gaf has posted. Make of it what you will.

:)

COD doing better isn't that unexpected, in NA COD has always done even better numbers than Halo (according to VGC), so that's business as usual

If we use BF numbers as reference points Battlefront won't do better, it'd need an insane December-movie related hype boost to do that

That's the page I was reading. All recent posts. Enjoy :)

It seems they are just using Amazon´s charts.

We even have our old friend Ethomaz pulling some strings. All that IMO looks just assumptions.

There are still no real "insiders" leaks.

I didn't claim any were insider posts, just recent posts in general.

The last insider post I read was from abdiel on Sunday talking about low halo 5 bundle pre orders and lots of ps4s walking out the doors due to the price cut.

Probably get more insider stuff on Monday when npd releases.

Halo 5 LE bundle is too expensive... that is why they think it is limited.
MS is going only for hardcores fans.

Halo Bundle nearly in top 20

Halo 5 effect starting to kick in. even the other XB1 bundles are on the rise, most probably because they are much cheaper to get with halo rather than the halo 5 bundle.

can PS4's pricecut make it steal the win? or will Halo's effect make the XB1 surpass the PS4? a lot of PS4 sales are also going to november, with the two star wars and BO bundles being counted for next month.

It was 29 yesterday

XBO Halo LE ready to make its mark. Halo 5 looking to have a strong showing if it can move that $500 beast up the charts.

It's definitely looking closer now but people have to remember not to view the daily updates in the same way as the monthly updates. The daily updates give us an idea of how the monthly update will look. Ignoring the Destiny bundle for now, we've had nearly 14 days of 2 PS4 bundles (that affect this month) above the Halo bundle and it looks like we may soon be seeing the halo bundle above the 2 PS4 bundles. Depending on their positions, I'd say it's still an advantage for the PS4 in terms of deciding the final monthly update. Throw in the Destiny bundle which made it 3/1 at some points and I'm still inclined to think the PS4 wins. It's all going to come down to pre-orders. To sum up:

2/1 (3/1 occasionally with Destiny) to 1/2 (+preorders) = Likely PS4 win. But also bare in mind that it's still 1/1 in favour of the PS4.

I will say though that I'm almost certain the PS4 won't lose ground this Christmas like they did last Christmas but will in fact gain ground.

Monthly so far:

#21 PS4 Destiny Bundle
#27 PS4 TLOUR Bundle
#28 PS4 Star Wars Bundle
#40 XB1 Halo Bundle
#57 PS4 Nathan Drake Bundle
#65 PS4 Black Ops Bundle

The PS5 Exists.
