MS won last holiday, Sony haven't been "dominating" most of the NPD months this year, just winning them. Halo comes out at the end of this month. Tomb Raider is X1 exclusive. I expect the X1 to be sub $300 for BF and MS have FO4 marketing rights. To battle that Sony do not have any big exclusives but have marketing rights and LE consoles for 2 massive games. I also expect Sony to have a price cut and be more aggressive on BF.

I honestly do not know which way it will swing this holiday.

So you say its a battle cuz they "might" do something, meanwhile sony has done something, and its currently dominating, yet again and it looks like it will keep dominating. But your right, "if" MS does something it might be an intriguing battle, untill then, its not.

You missed all the points I made that have/will happen and concentrated on the 1 point that I expect to happen. By pointing out that one point you want to ignore Halo, FO4 marketing and Tomb Raider exclusive. At the same time you do not point out that I also said Sony "might" do something (price cut and be more aggressibe on BF) just because you want to try and destroy my opinion. Not going to happen without an objective debate.

Look if you believe that Sony will win this holiday easily, then that's up to you. If you want me to to listen to why you think so then put across some decent points and a good counter argument instead of skewing what I'm saying.

To put it bluntly, if you're argument is "Sony dominates the NPD results" (which is a lie) then I'm not going to take you serious.

really? I dint address any of your other points cuz we are in a thread that specifically destroys them on its own and I have no need to chip it, but here we go.

Halo bundle and game have been available for preorder for months now and has not even cracked the top 50 over thouse months unlike the destiny bundle and starwars bundle and now the black ops bundle, wich since anounced have always been on the top....well most of the time.

FO4 and tomb raider have also been available for preorder and nothing has given even the indication of things going in an upset in MS's favor. Although yea theese bundles have been available for very little time, they at least are very close to release and they are yet to come close to the top 100. In fact, the preorders are so bad that with in a week they had to add NBA2K16 and still nothing.

Yes, MS won last holiday, but the 360 also won last gen in the US and look at MS now. Last year MS had nsane fire sales acroos the country, w their offerings are an embarasment in comparison. While on the other side, the ps4 holiday bundle was very limited and not that big of a deal and now they have many diferent bundles, almost all the third party deals, a pricecut of their own and all the momemtum. So if you are looking to compare things to last year, then sony are doing much better.

Why should I not count on NPD? They are the sole trackers of consoles in the US, they are the most official thing available and if they say sony has dominated then you take it s fact and use it to see how thhings might turn out.

Dont think I need to adress the points in sonys favor that you mentioned.

Again, not saying its all over for MS or that sony has this on the bag, just saying that if all things stay the same sony is bound to dominate by a lot the entire holiday. They might both do some things to sway people, but our assumptions mean nothing, just what we have now matters and it tells us that there is no battle. When MS makes a worthwhile anouncement then we can come back to this issue and say "now things are heating up".

You do make some good points. I'm surprised how bad the X1 has done over the past few weeks and at one point no consoles in the top 100. I can't quite put my finger on the reasons why because the NPD results recently have virtually been neck and neck (BTW I didn't say you couldn't use NPD but just pointing out that PS4 hasn't been dominted the figures although winning all the months this year, it's been by narrow margins). The only reason I can think of is that people are wise to how cheap MS will go this BF and are holding out for the BF deals.

But it seems that the X1 is now starting to build up some steam. The Halo Bundles constantly pushing up the charts and is now at 42 3 weeks away from launch. 2 more bundles have now shown up in the top 100. PS4 will not have it's own way this month, Halo is to huge. Seriously people are underestimating how much this game will push consoles. Although it's my opinion, I believe we will see an X1 console below $300 on BF. Desperate move? No doubt. But it will still shift consoles.

Either way I'm not too bothered if the X1 doesn't win, I'm a PS4 gamer.

#04 PS4 Destiny Bundle
#24 PS4 TLOUR Bundle
#42 XB1 Halo Bundle
#58 PS4 Black Ops Bundle
#78 PS4 Star Wars Bundle
#85 PS4 Fool's Edition
#88 XB1 Madden Bundle
#96 WiiU Deluxe
#99 XB1 Gears Bundle

Note that whilst the XB1 bundles are on the rise, so are the PS4 bundles. If the Destiny Bundle and The TLOUR bundle remain in first and second place until the 27th, I'm going to give October to the PS4, even if the gap shrinks between second and third. There's no way in hell that Sony aren't going to do something to lessen the impact of the Halo launch at PGW (the very same day Halo launches).

I get that, but then it seems thhat if they do anything, it wont affect october, it will all buble up for black friday on november, even halo sales. But by then, sony  will most likely have something up their sleeves as well.

I think some of that steam also comes from the ps4 being out of stock everywhere after the promos yeaterday, consumers just saw first a free MGSV game with the destiny console, witch I bought :p, then a $50 gift card, then the 1 year of ps+ wich is basicly another $50 giift card, and now nothing in most places, I think peple are waiting for either an official pricecut, or more adds to the eisting bundles to come back.

And you cant just say that sony has been narrowly beating the x1, considering MS has offered some insane deals over the year and sony has done nothing at all and still been victorious. That august victory says it all with the x1 plus a tv for $500.

Im not acusing you of anything, Ive followed your threads I know where you stand, but It just botheres me a little that people are putting so much faith in halo and ignoring everithing else and also saying last year this so this year also.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

It bothers me when people shut down opinions without really putting a decent argument across but you have proven that you do actually know what you're talking about and not some blind idiot. As it stands right now, October looks like it's in the bag for Sony but I'm still wary of what Halo could do at the end of the month and for the rest of the holiday.

We are all blind to what will happen on BF and that is always the key to winning the holiday. Will we see $300 X1s with gift vouchers free XBL etc. Will Sony drop the price. Will the Halo LE bundle drop to $400??? This is why I said it will be an intriguing battle this holiday to begin with. MS might have to do more to win the holiday but history shows us that they always are the most aggressive on BF.

When IS Black Friday?

The day after Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November), in 2015, Thanksgiving's Nov 26th.  So, it's the 27th.
