Forums - Microsoft Discussion - ‘New Xbox One Experience’ Speed Comparisons; More Than 50% Faster, Outperforming PS4 UI

what about games installation time? why its not improving??

It has, hasn't it?  I got Ryse and it took so long to install that I couldn't even play it that day.  Same with Dead Rising 3.  Sunset Overdrive only took like five mins as did Gears Ultimate.  Not PS4 fast but nowhere near PS3 slow.

Wasn't the OS the strenght of the XB1 from the get go?

Happy for those who have it that they finally fixed it.

Are the installs any better now?

and what about using the default launcher, without spending hours "accustomizing yourself to it" just so you know where to find your games etc.? is it any better or does it needs configureation to make sense?

I wish I could answer your questions but I don't know what you mean.

Not that I'm answering specifically for him or agreeing with the basis of the article, but his questions does get at what was continuously discussed in many forums since launch.

The OS was seen very intuitive and the best experience on console of any platform because of features and how it was built (argued by xbox fans), and now considering it was slower and needed a major update then maybe it was a flawed view. Also, the installs were much slower than PS4 installs. Lastly, looks like he had some issues with the UI and is asking if it's more user friendly now under the "new xbox experience".

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Thank god, was so frustrating before.

And I still go faster than any of those times using Kinect voice commands.... A lot faster.... What a waste of life time for those Kinect haters....
I didn't know it was that much time I was saving... Thank spaghetti monster with 80 h/week work I got no time to waste with old tech input devices

I love people who pretend that Don was the problem... the team was the same, Phill wasn't brought from the outside and neither was a employee without voice there... so he is only a cloud pleaser as Azzanation said, no need to make him a godsent.

Well he was the CEO so... Like in football, if a club does worse than expected you blame the manager for not being able to make the most of your players. Where are those people making Phil a god sent, messiah etc by the way?

I dont believe this news the story was originally spread by a pro Xbox page taking a random user from reddit as source who hasnt even made a video showing real footage

Like this for example, why no video?

That's an awesome video. Hopefully they do an update when the new update role out!

I don't have the update yet (should have it soon) but I was always comfortable with the XB1 interface.  The new one looked kind of confusing but I guess it's because it's unfamiliar.  Hopefully I pick up on it fast.  I think I was in the minority because there are tons of videos online of people confused as to where things are.  People were saying it was slow but I thought it was " fast enough " most of the time.

Now, I guess I can understand his question better but I don't have an answer, yet.

I don't know how much of that is true or not but what I tried today wasn't very good
The update itself took close to half a freaking hour which is worse than PS3 updates. Ps4 updates take 1-2 minutes
Opening the friends list: about the same first time after booting, longer delay on XB1 on subsequent access (but negligible cause it's fast enough on both)
Opening the my games and apps tab takes around 5 times as much as accessing the library on PS4
And of course games still take ages to install, the NFS beta is taking its time

Lesson here is that you can't fix what was shipped fundamentally wrong without shipping a whole new product

Don't care how fast it is, the UI is garbage.
