Forums - Microsoft Discussion - ‘New Xbox One Experience’ Speed Comparisons; More Than 50% Faster, Outperforming PS4 UI

Looks like I'm jumping in at the perfect time.

Would be nice to see data on:

1) time between clicking buy/download to being able to start a game.
2) time between putting in a new disc game and being able to start the game.

i'll add to this too.

3) time taken from cold boot to starting a game
4) time taken from suspend mode to starting a game

Also, actual video comparisons of all three side by side rather than just numbers with no real solid indicator of the processes used beyond "i did it as fast as i could", because aribtrary things like "how fast it takes to send the message "Hello" could be down to un/familiarity with the controller, use of predictive text or keyboard layout.

without video it's too easy to chalk down the differences (especially the smaller ones) to the end user and not the ui itself.

You guys have me curious. I'm gonna fire up the WiiU, PS4, and Xbox One from their 100% powered disc state and see how long it takes to get to the menu.

WiiU: 17 seconds

Xbox One: One minute and 13 seconds

PS4:  28 seconds

Uh....  :(

Didn't know the OS was so bad before.

When I switched from PS4 to Xbox One I noticed it immediately. Good to see it's now even faster. I'm not really surprised though. If MS weren't good at making Operating Systems they would have gone down the toilet long ago.

Too much time on my hands, I guess.

Phil Spencer didnt fix anything... he was hired to talk and talk (trying to fix MS image and talk alot about PS4 like we saw several pass week) this what he is paid for!

He reduced the price and created the preview program whic is now used on windows 10 etc. Hes done a lot you're just to ignorant to admit it.

he didnt reduce anything! it the inside team who decide this he is only a image for MS but your to stubborn and ignorant to see it!

price was reduce coz they need to get share market so they can stay in the competition

You odnt have solid proof to back that up. All you can say is PR but all companies do PR. He had a ahnd in the price cut and when he took control he started the preview program which is now used in windows 10.

Ofc they reduced the price to stay competitive.

I dont want to get this thread out of hand so im leaving it at that.

Yeah, but we all know that improvements made after the release don't count.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
