It was to sell more consoles basically.

If you don't plan on using Amiibos for 3DS games or to play Xenoblade, then I don't think you need to upgrade

To have a reason to increase the price for hardware that was outdated on its release. Honestly, I have no idea how they can get away with charging this much for their crappy hardware. The reason why I haven't got a 3DS is because it's too expensive for me! Vita is so much cheaper and from the technological point of view, the quality of execution it's miles away.

With such ridiculous pricing, I won't get a 3DS unless it's finally hacked like the DS. I don't accept such rip-off policy.



Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I just wish they would add little bonuses in their new games for people who have the New 3DS. Games like Chibi-Robo, Tri-Force Heros, etc. I wish there was some added functionality for the New 3DS. I know they said that Hyrule Warriors Legends will only have 3D on the New model, so I guess that's something...

They're all rip-offs, even the Vita.


Still, if you consider the price of both the console and games later on, Vita ends up being much, much cheaper! And it's despite having a much higher level of built quality, next gen specs (in comparison) and games costing more to develop. I am willing to pay for quality, but I won't pay extra for lower quality. I know there are some great games there, but I can't justify the price of the 3DS experience. As I've said - I'll get one when they crack it like they did with the DS. I still ended up buying a few DS games I enjoyed the most and will do that with 3DS as well, but no way I'm getting into this system without that.

I told people it was nothing more than a 3DSi just with "New" put in front of it and it wouldn't be supported and was just a last gasp revision because NX is coming. But some people have to learn the hard way I guess.

Same reason there was a GBA SP or a GBC. It plugs the hole to stop money from leaking out. And going by sales of 3DS this year vs last year, especially in Japan, it worked.

Their sales are down YoY in Japan. It just would be worse if they hadn't released the n3DS.
