Bungie already leave MS at 2007 which 360 was doing pretty good at that time.

Microsoft probably wanted to close the studio for financial reasons, but split them off instead. Could have been part of the deal when the studio was purchased, could have been the studio heads wanting to keep it alive, could have been MS avoiding bad pr, etc.

They need to. Twisted Pixel was gold. GOLD, DAMMIT! Since M$ got them, they haven't done anything good. Should have been a perfect match.
