Forums - Gaming Discussion - Most disappointing "fall from grace" by a game company

The OP pretty much sums up my feelings towards Nintendo these days. They've made questionable decision after head scratching decision generation after generation in spite of their success, and they've really screwed the pooch this gen with the Wii U to the point where it's really going to be tough for them to make a comeback, far beyond the predicament they found themselves in at the end of the N64's and GC's life cycles.

Edit:  Rare was also a hugely disappointing fall from grace for me, going from putting out absolute must own gem after gem during the N64 days with so much potential heading into the 6th gen to the fantastic looking but underwhelming Starfox Adventures on GC and their subsequent software output on M$ consoles, hitting a low point with BK Nuts & Bolts and being reduced to making casual / party games for the Kinect.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I loved SEGA for Sonic Adventure and the Dreamcast.

Then hey started making more 3D Sonic games.

Now I question myself on why this franchise still exists.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

1) Loved Valve gaming company because of the amazing software output they had some years ago.

2) Then they did Steam (which it's awesome in itself) but focused entirely on it, plus some other things like a Steam controller, that I didn't like.

3) Now I feel indiference for/towards them.

Loved Blizzard because they made the greatest games of all time.

Then they made wow... and changed... and then Stacraft 2.. ugh.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I still think it's SEGA. What they are today compared to what they were in the 90s ... is depressing.

This, their more like online retailers than game developers these days ...

Konami, Sega, Capcom, Valve ( what was the last game they made that was worth playing? Global Offensive? L4D2?) and Rare.

World of warcraft the thread. The wow dev team are utter morons and the game used to be so good. Other examples I guess Rare, SEGA, Konami, Nintendo, Capcom, Bioware among many many others.  Also the types of games that I grew up with like Crash, Spyro, Tomba etc, those kinda games don't really seem to exist anymore. It's sad :(

Kohami I guess? :/

Bungie

I thought the world of them for creating Halo

My expectations for Destiny were as high as they've been for any game I can remember

I could not have been more disappointed. It was actually heartbreaking tbh
